Ah, guys If you remember correctly, the last game I ever reviewed from Rare entertainment was Conker's bad fur day, this was a platformer like no other, It had alot of cussing, blood, and mature adult content, But let's take some time and look back at when Rare developed family friendly games, and this is one of them, Banjo kazooie, will this game be a hallmark in Rare's history? Let's found out!

Story-7/10
The game opens up with a shot of a big green village, this is spiral mountain, the place in which our hero Banjo and kazooie live, But we're looking at the outskirts of the village, where lies the lair of an evil old witch named Gruntilda (Or Grunty for short) Here, Grunty is thinking up of a plan to turn into a beautiful women, But then she suddenly gets the Idea to kidnap Banjo's little sister tooty, she then does so, and the only guy there to witness this is Banjo's best buddy bottles, a mole who will teach you new moves to help you out in the game. So the next morning, Bottles tells banjo and kazooie about this, Now It is up to  Banjo and his bird like sidekick to save the day!

Gameplay-8/10
Banjo kazooie is your typical 3D platformer, much like other games at the time like Super Mario 64 and Crash bandicoot, except the game takes a whole emphasis on item collecting, what I mean to say Is that each level has a bunch of items to collect, which include Music notes, Jigsaw pieces, These colored creatures named jinjos, etc. Our two heroes will also be learning a bunch of new moves from this mole named bottles (Who kazooie seem to has a huge hatred for as seen in the tutorial level) But they get along later in the game. Normal game items also include Big honeycombs, in which 6 collected gives you  an extra life points, Normal honeycombs which just refill your health bar by one, little statues which give you an extra life, And last but not least, they are these special skulls you can find, and once you find 6 of them, You can go to this dude named Mumbo jumbo, and He will turn you into a special animal required for certain parts of the level, Anyways, That is pretty much It for the gameplay!

Graphics-8/10
This game was made in June 1998, and at the time, A bunch of other 3D platformers were being released at the time, which include Crash bandicoot warped, Spyro the dragon, Gex enter the gecko, etc. And for what It is worth, It is pretty good! All the worlds you will be exploring are huge, beautiful, and bursting with color! Which is exactly what you would expect from a game like this. As for the characters, they are pretty sweet as well! Banjo is a honeybear, Kazooie is some sort of unknown breed of bird (If you know what breed she is tell me!)  Bottles I syour typical helpful dude, and so on. The HUD is pretty self explanatory, The top left hand corner of the screen shows how many lives you have left until game over and How may health combs you have left until you lose a life. Anyways, that is it for the graphics.

Sound-7/10
Probably my favorite part of the game! All of the songs that You will be hearing are catchy, bright, and fit the mood of each level you will be exploring very well. As for the sound effects, they are your typical stuff, but Is that a bad thing? No! Except most of the sound effects seem to be borrowed from Hanna barbera cartoons, you ahev your boings, booms, bounces, etc. One thing I like most about the game though is that all the characters seem to talk in some sort of gibberish language which is pretty darn funny if you ask me! A true staple of the series. Also, whenever you dive underwater, the music starts to change alot. Anyways, that is It for the sound.

Addictiveness-8/10
One thing you guys ask me, and It is, Will you ever play this game again? Of course I will! I mean the game just has that certain charm that makes want to come back and get everything else, I do remember playing this game nonstop when I first got it, And It is still holding up today. Thank you rare for all of these amazing games, Banjo, DK, Conker, Perfect dark, Goldeneye, etc.

Depth-9/10
One thing you should know, This game has alot of replay value to It! Each level has alot of jiggies music notes and whatnot to collect, expect for the jinjos, there are only 5 of them in each level, And the game is about 8 worlds long, so It will most likely take you 7-10 hours to beat it all.

Difficulty-7/10
Banjo's adventure is pretty fun, But If there is one thing I cannot get over, His adventure can get unBEARably hard! (Haha see what I did there?) Mostly that darn rusty bucket bay! But in all other parts of the game, I did not really have that much trouble. I mean, It is rare entertainment, so what to expect guys?

Overall-9.3/10
Well what else can I say, you must buy this game! It is one of the greatest action adventure games that you can get on the Nintendo 64 today! Right next to Super Mario 64, I gave this game a 9.3 because how insanely fun it is and how much It offers for you to do, so buy this game now, no explanation needed, just do It. This has been your favorite reviewer RedHotToddy, And I am signing off! See you guys tomorrow!
