Well, its known that teachers are paid horrible. Some of the teachers i know, shouldnt even be paid as much as they do. They get paid, what... around 30,000 a year. They do what they love, and get paid crap for teaching 'future america'. So, what do you guys think of this crap?

Also, nowadays teachers are expected to basically raise the children. They can't really do much to stop a child's bad behavior either. I might be a teacher, but never at a public high school, maybe a private high school or at the college level, but too many people would get on my nerves at a public high school. I just wish some parents could do a better job raising their children.

They get paid to much! Alot of the teachers at Prescott don't even do anything. They write some notes (that they get from a book) on the board once a week or so, give assignments out of a book and than once a month they make up a test. Than they usually have students correct eachothers papers, so some of these teachers aren't doin jack sh!t. Oh yeah, and they do a little bit of talking, and than hand out the worksheets (that are USUALLY printed off by another company) or they just tell the students to read from a book and do the questions on a certain page.

There are some really good teachers that are deserving to make more, but there are also alot that deserve less.

It seems like the less you do now days, the more you make

All athletes and everyone in Hollywood should ALL take a damn pay cut, they make WAAAY to much. How hard is it to act anyway? Even if it is sorta hard, you shouldn't make THAT much and the fame your getting is amazing aswell.

There are too many teachers who think of teaching as some "job" when it's really a calling. You have to have a strong drive to teach for you to be a decent teacher in my humble opinion.

With that said there are alot of very good teacher who are grossly under paid.

John brings up a good point, they pretty much attend their "work" as much as the students attend school. The average school, students attend 180 days. Teachers have a few extra days, but not many, at very most, 10 - 15 more days than the students, this means, the teachers only work a little over HALF of the days in a year!
