I've just recently figured out what a Nuzlocke is.  It's basically a challenge a person gives themselves, with extra rules to make a game more difficult and interesting.  Has anyone tried to Nuzlocke this yet?  Or am I the first one to try?  This is my first attempt at a Nuzlocke, and these are the rules that I am going by:
-Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be either released or permanently boxed.
-The player may only catch the first Pokémon they encounter in each area, and only once.
If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances.  Also if the first encounter is a double battle in dark grass, the player gets to choose which Pokémon they would like to catch.  If the Pokémon has already been caught in another area, you may skip it and count the next encounter as the first for the area.
-Voluntarily using save states is banned.  I will only use them when I am done for the night, so that I can continue the next day (I prefer save states over in game saves.  They're more reliable)
-Starter Pokémon is based on Trainer ID #.  I wound up with the fire starter, Torchic.
-The player may not evolve captured Pokémon, but evolved Pokémon may be caught.  I count the starter as being given to me, not caught.
-Each gym badge counts as a "Checkpoint", in case of a game over.  Purely as a mercy rule.
-A black out/white out is considered a "Game Over".
-If the player has no Pokémon that can use a certain field move that is required to continue through any given point of the game, they may catch another Pokémon that can learn said field move. However, it cannot be used in battle for any reason, and must be released, permanently boxed, or migrated as soon as the player gets another Pokémon that can use said field move.  This does not count towards the one catch per area.
-Disallow fleeing.
So far, my Nuzlocke has been successful.  I have just gotten past the first gym, and the little team aqua disturbance with stealing the Devon Goods.  In my process of grinding my team, I wound up losing my beloved Weed (A level 21 Bellsprout) to an arrogant Magby.  May he rest in peace.

I love this game so much and with the length that you made this you almost could have made it a review. Although then you would have had to go into the categories.

grim creaper : Good idea. I like the way you took some standard nuzlocke rules, and put some extra's here and there. Personally, the no evolution rule seems the hardest to me. Maybe because I've played tons of nuzlockes already

Good luck on this one, I hope you'll get to succeed.

I agree.  In previous games and hacks, I found myself training only the starter Pokémon and using everyone else in my team as cannon fodder while I revive my starter, whenever he fainted.  I knew that I would have to train a full team of Pokémon for this hack, and in my first ever Pokémon game or 2, I was doing that anyway.  But I noticed that I would always rely on the evolutions, because of better stats and more diverse move sets.  The evolution ban is really difficult, because I was stuck with an Azurill whom I can't evolve, and it learns its last move at level 21 (water gun I think).  It has been stored in the box, because it's not a very strong Pokémon.  My Zigzagoon on the other hand was pretty decent.  Especially his Pick-up ability.  I got several rare candies, free potions (including 2 hyper's at the beginning of the game), full heals and repels all for free, just for walking around and training my team.  However, my Zigzagoon has passed away as well

I'm definitely going to have to play through this again when I'm done, without the Nuzlocke rules.  That way I can catch 'em all, and do what I want  This is by far one of the most interesting hacks I've played, and the Nuzlocke adds some extra fun to it.  I'm forced to be extra cautious, or risk losing one of treasured Pokémon forever.  I've never had to be cautious before in a Pokémon game, none of them have been challenging in the slightest

grim creaper : Well first off I wish you good luck on your nuzlocke challenge! And you really have your work cut out for you this time, this hack of emerald is one of the hardest Pokemon hacks on Vizzed and the Pokemon levels and stats and the games A.I.is already pretty tough to beat from the gecko. But this is still and enjoyable game, I enjoyed it alot because of the challenges already in the game and to me the gym leaders Pokemon teams are the best I've seen out of any hack on the board.
