Pokémon emerald is just your average Pokémon game. It is based in the Hoenn region of the Pokémon world and your three starters are Torchic, the fie type Pokémon, Treeko, the grass type, and Mudkip, the water type Pokémon. It is the same as all other Pokémon games you wake you from a sleep and decide its time to adventure. Although the twist in this is you don't go to the lab to choose your starter, instead you help the professor from being attacked by a Zigzagoon. You choose your Pokémon and help him. Then you get your first Pokémon. The game itself is a quality game and worth playing and in the time was definitely a step forward in the Pokémon series. Overall this game is in my medium high rated games at a strong 8.6

Graphics:
The graphics in this game are not as good in coliseum but for a handheld game the graphics are spot on. While playing I did not experience any lagging in the game and all of the cut scenes were smooth and clear cut. The moves your Pokémon will perform work perfectly and every move works the way it should. No lagging, no glitching, no weird mishaps you may encounter else where. This game still has the special evolving scene which is very nice. It adds a aspect to the game of accomplishment knowing you raised that Pokémon to what they are now.

Sound:
This game was a increase from the old games when it comes to sounds and music and the repetitive "doot doot" when you enter a poke center or just randomly walking through the forest. The game is still your 16 bits and takes getting use to because the game does not have a mute option with in the options. So when wanting to listen to music good luck because you have to mute your computer or listen to this cheap Nintendo music. But these sounds also are good when it comes to the level up noise and the noise you hear when you find an item or anything of that nature. All of those are still here and sound the same as if you were playing them on a DS.

Addictiveness:
If you are a Pokémon fan you are clearly addicted to the game and there is no explanation on why you will fall in love with this game. If you are not a fan, let me explain. Pokémon is all about become the master, being the greatest trainer ever. If you like your self a RPG then Pokémon may be game you should try. You raise your Pokémon from the little tikes you find them as in the wild. Your goal as a trainer should be to make your team as high as possible, and reaching level 100 takes a while. Now imagine doing that for 6 Pokémon. While you may think this would get boring it is just a game you cannot put down. Just to add another aspect to the game, a goal the professor puts you on is to find and catch as many of the regions Pokémon as possible. In this game that number comes out to 202. Some of which are not obtainable because you cannot trade in this game so several of the Pokémon you cannot call yours. A few of these Pokémon are as follows:
               Kadabra - Alakazam
               Machoke -  Machamp
               Gravler - Golem
                                      /------Huntail
               Clamperl ---
                                      ------Gorebyss

You also cannot obtain the legendaries Mew, Deoxys, or Jirachi.

Story:
The story is just as all Pokémon games. You face the criminal clan in the area but in this game there are two. There is team magma and team aqua. Both set out to upset a legendary and try to rule the world. The plan falls apart and the legendaries try to kill each other and it is your job to fix there problems. Most people don't play Pokémon for the stories and if you do, congrats for being on of few. The only good part of any Pokémon games story is that you are trying to be the champion and battle your rival to show them who is boss. That basic Pokémon theme as carried through the entire series and I'm sure will be in the future Pokémon games X and Y.

Depth:
The depth to this game is scattered above but il put it all here for you. Emerald allows you to capture the 202 Pokémon of the Hoenn region and your personal goal is to try and become the Champion. Really is not too much but the game is great and this will take you some time to accomplish. (please refer to the several Pokémon you can not obtain due to flaws in the game)

Difficulty:
The games difficulty is set for a young kid, it is simple to easily walk through every gym and the elite four because their Pokémon are usually several levels lower than your entire team if you are even decent at this game. The controls are easy to learn. You just use the arrows and if you the default is difficult just change it to your liking. The hardest objective in this game is catching all 202, which really in reality is like 195 for this game but you get my drift.

Overall:
This game is wonderful and as a Pokémon fan I say play it. If you have not played Pokémon this is not a bad place to start. If someone offered me their Emerald, I would say yes any day because I know it is something I will always go back to when the rest of my games are not satisfying me.

Remember, Battle On!!!

Overall, this is a nice, lengthy review and you summarize the game well and you go into a great amount of depth for each category of the game, and I think that is really great and also really important in a game so good work with that. You have everything neatly organized and you have plenty of information for each topic and you aren't brief or vague with the detail. I like your introduction summary of the game and I think you sum it all up really well. So overall, very nice job, well done, great work, keep up the awesome work and keep making more awesome reviews. I think you did a spectacular job with this ad I look forward to seeing your next review! This is probably one of my favorite Pokémon games as well.

You had an excellent and lengthy review for the game of Pokémon Emerald. I too believe that this game is very addictive and fun. Overall of the Pokémon games I think that Pokémon Emerald has one of the best plot lines if not the best plot line. Also the graphics are pretty good for a Game Boy Advance game. Your review also was in good format and each different category was expanded well and you expressed your thoughts of the game. Keep up the excellent work on making reviews.
