Hello! It is Black Bot with another Mario Kart review!

This game is released in 1992 by Nintendo and can be played on the Nintendo Entertainment system. (NES)

Now let's start with the quite detailed review!

NOTE: Tell me what I need to improve on when you have finished reading. Be sure to rate it and stay tuned to my other reviews as well!
Graphics: 8 / 10

The graphics were quite good especially for the movements and stuff. But what I hate is when everything in this game is completely flat.
Now to get on with the design.

Characters: The 8 characters were designed quite nicely. But what I do not like about it is when the pixels were spread apart a little. But overall, the characters looked quite good as if they were in karts.

Karts: The karts looked very nice overall and the Standard Kart is the only Kart that you could race on. What I hate about this is the size of the karts. Big characters should have big karts while small characters should have small karts.

This explains a little why I rated the graphics a 8 / 10.

Sound : 7 / 10

Why?

I chose 7 because it could be improved a lot. Some of the music in this game hurts my ears a little which is bad.
Rainbow Road music was okay. The intro was kind of good and the other music before the race was not so bad.
I do not really have nothing else to say about this subject, so yeah.


Addictiveness: 6 / 10

Note: This is in my opinion..

I chose 6 because it does not really have nothing else to do when you beat the game in like a few hours or something,
There are 50cc, 100cc, 150cc, and Time Trials. Once you beat it sometimes people do not really want to play this game in a LONG time. Kind of like me in many ways, sometimes. I rated it a quite low score due to the reasons I just listed, so yeah.


Story : ? / 10

This game does NOT really have a story. Well, Unless you are watching Mario Kart: The movie, then it pretty much has a beginning. I recommend you watch the trailer sometime. Sorry for the off - topic stuff over there.

Depth: 7 / 10

This game includes

Single Player Mode and two player mode.
Both of them can do:

 - Mario Kart Grand Prix - Race for first place!
 - Time Trials - Race for the best time!


Mario Kart Grand Prix could do:

50cc - Easy CPU's and longer tracks.
100cc - Medium level CPU's and shorter tracks than 150cc.
150cc - Hard level CPU's and short tracks.

50cc, 100cc, and 150cc includes which you could play in 16 different courses and levels!

Time Trials:

Race in 16 different tracks and race for the best time!

I guess that is pretty much what is into the game.

Difficulty: 8 / 10

I chose 8 because on Flat item boxes, and flat walls, it is hard to tell where you are even going! Sometimes you think it is a item box but it is a fake! People can throw items at you as well like green shells and stuff! Watch out!

I hate that it is very flat. I do not blame it because this game was actually made in 1992. lol

Overall: 8.5

Flat courses, quite good designs, hard difficulty, and more! This game was a big hit! But the sound is going down.. Plus the addictiveness was poor and could be improved and better. I do not blame it because this game was made 21 years ago back in 1992!

I guess anyone can have their own opinion but I'm not sure why you would say the music "hurts your ears" It's pretty standard SNES music. I mean sure it could be improved but it certainly isn't bad. Keep in mind when reviewing and old game you can do it two was. Reviewing how it has held up over the decades, or reviewing it based on the time when it was released.

Also, I noticed a typo in the beginning where you said the game was playable on the Nintendo Entertainment system when it was only playable on the SNES.

Other than that it was a decent review. This version of Mario Kart is still my favorite even after all of these years.
