Super Smash Bros is the first of a series of games that brings together the universe hidden within Nintendo's world of gaming. Smash Bros combines each of the characters from their epic games in 1 mass fighting style free for all. In this game you can play as several Nintendo characters and compete to be the best fighter. You can unlock new characters and play on 8 classic stages that represent the worlds of each character's respective games.

This game guide will be unlike my others, This won't be a long guide because there isn't much to the game other than playing techniques, moves, stages and a few other key elements. To actually describe what you need to do to perform actions like completing Board the Platform and Target Test would be extremely difficult to do and would require intense detail. In this guide red represents the titles of each part. Light Blue will highlight the different weapon items. Orange will highlight the item containers. Pink will highlight health items. Green will highlight other things.

Items
Items can be found throughout the game. Some of these are weak but other items are powerful and may send your opponent flying. Learning to use your items will help increase your chances of defeating some of your enemies.

Barrel If you pick this up you can throw it and it will roll on the ground and break open with items in it. Attacking this may lead to an explosion and cost you a life. Be careful where you aim because it may hurt when you're trying to win without dying.

Beam Sword One of the dangerous items of the game. This is a powerful weapon that can cause a lot of damage to an enemy and stop enemy attacks. Throwing this causes a great deal of damage and repeatedly hitting your enemy when make them vulnerable to a good hit off the stage.

Bomb-omb Arguably the most dangerous and deadly weapon of the game. This can be thrown and explodes on contact. It deals a considerable amount of damage and tosses your opponent off in a direction. If left alone too long it will begin to move around and if you get too close it will explode on you.

Bumper This item is both a useless and strategic weapon. Throwing this at the right time can be used to knock enemies off the stage and bumps them away. It does little damage and throwing it is no better.

Canister This is a lightweight pickup that can be easily thrown. Opening this item may provide a nice little item you can use or a nice big explosion that can endanger one of your lives.

Crate If you pick this up you can throw it and it can break open with items or an explosion. You need to be careful when attacking this because it may explode and cost you a life.

Fan Dangerous but annoying weapon. This can be used to break shields and put your enemy into you. Throwing this into your enemy after raising their damage will also send them flying very high.

Fireflower This is a projectile only weapon. This can be used to inflict damage to your enemy while pushing them back. This is ineffective against Fox if he used his reflect shield. It makes for a bad throwing weapon and does little damage.

Green Shell This is a 1 throw projectile item that can be used to deal a nice bit of damage to an opponent. It's pretty basic.

Hammer Probably the most fun and hardest to avoid item in the game. Picking this item up and hitting enemies with it will deal 30 damage to each enemy and possibly kill them if you hit them more than once. There is a short time on it. If you are knocked off the edge you will usually fall to your death because you can not drop the hammer.

Heart Container 1 of 2 healing items found in the game. This item will heal all of your damage. This will be a key item to anyone who is sitting with over 100% damage and is danger of being knocked off the stage.

Homerun Bat: Possibly the most dangerous item of the game. This can not only be a great item to attack with but defending with this is even better. Assaults on other enemies ends with a good deal of damage either by hitting them or throwing this into them. If you charge up the baseball bat and hit your enemy.. you'll hit them with such force that you will send them flying off the stage no matter how much damage they've taken so far (May not die with lower damage),

Maximum Tomato This is 1 of 2 healing items found in the game. It will reduce your damage by 100% and help prevent you from being tossed off the stage so easily.

Motion Sensor Bomb This item is a special bomb that can be used as a trap and quickly inflict a nice set of damage but there is a flaw.. If you move into the Mine you will take damage and you will lose the mine. Be careful where you place these.

Pokeball This is probably a lucky and unlucky item. This has a great range of Pokemon that can randomly be used in battle. Some Pokemon suck and do nothing or very little while other Pokemon are powerful and can deal serious damage. I will not name all the Pokemon at this time. I may add them in later.

Ray Gun Long range projectile that is easy to disable your opponent. This can push your opponent off the stage and neglect any chance of recovering if used to keep pushing you further back. It makes for an ok throwing weapon but may be useless against fast characters like Fox.

Red Shell This can be used on any flat platform to keep opponents off of that platform. It will move back and forth for a limited time and deal damage to whoever is closest.

Star This is an invincibility item that bounces on the stage, If you don't grab this in time you may lose it. It will protect you from all attacks for a short time but everyone will run from you.

Star Rod Not necessarily a powerful weapon but it is a good projectile weapon and can be used in close combat. This can damage your opponent from a distance but it doesn't do much. Hitting them at close range is much more effective and it makes for a decent throwing weapon.

Stages
In the single player game each fight is broken into stages. There are 11 Stages and 3 bonus stages throughout the game. You will need to win them all for the maximum points you can obtain.

Stage 1 - Link
This is the easiest fight of any difficulty. This stage you will need to avoid tornado or you will take extra damage.

Stage 2 - 18 Yoshi
As you kill off the Yoshi they get increasingly more aggressive. Any attack will easily toss Yoshi around and most attacks may kill them

Stage 3 - Fox
Fox is quick and evasive. Ranged attacks are likely to be reflected by Fox and may result in you taking extra damage. Avoid the arwing because most of the time they will kill you if you are caught in their attack,

Target Test
Depending on your character you will have to destroy all the targets in the time given. Most targets are relatively easy but there will be a target or 2 that may be slightly more difficult to reach. You can practice these before you play,

Stage 4 - Mario Bros
You're given an ally on this one that is usually weaker than the Mario Bros. They will work together pretty well so you will need to try and knock one off really quick or you may face some combo attacks.

Stage 5 - Pikachu
On this stage you go against Pikachu but you will need to be careful of the little area which pokemon can come out. If you are tossed into it you may be damaged and possibly thrown off the edge.

Stage 6 - Giant DK
This time you have 2 allies and they are usually pointless. DK is huge and can easily damage everyone without being thrown around. You will need to throw him off the edge and have him fall most likely in order to defeat him

Board the Platform
Usually a little more challenging than the Targets but if you're used to these you'll know all the tricks. Do these fast because they'll take up a lot of time.

Stage 7 - 8 Kirby
This time you're facing 8 Kirby and they each have a special ability. Kirby is slightly weaker than the other opponents you faced. You can send Kirby flying but this doesn't usually kill them.

Stage 8 - Samus
On this stage you will need to be aware of the acid that rises and drops throughout the match. Sometimes you may lose half of the stage and you will need to be aware of when it rises and falls. This can make or break your death so be careful.

Stage 9 - Metal Mario
Challenging battle where Mario is very very heavy. You will need to quickly deal damage without taking much yourself. If you take too much damage you will fly far and high. This stage is small so you don't have much room to spread out. Usually throwing Mario off the edge and stopping his special jump will prevent him from reaching up.

Race to the Finish
In this stage you will need to dodge 3 polygon as you descend the stage. You're going to encounter several barrels that will explode on contact.

Stage 10 - 30 Polygon Team
This can be a very frustrating part of the game. If you thought Metal Mario was difficult, this is really difficult if you're trying to win without dying. Although most of the Polygon are easy to defeat, they are aggressive and will hit you enough times that your damage will rise over 150 before you will finally be thrown from their weak attacks. You will need to dodge and kill the Polygon team as soon as they appear. If you don't, you may lose a life in the process.

Final Boss - Master Hand
This is the main fight to the game. You will need to fight the Master Hand while avoiding every one of his attacks. All of his attacks are avoidable. Master Hand will start out slow and as you progress in damaging the Master Hand you increase how aggressive the hand is. If you don't fight fast and hard you may be caught in one of his attacks and either knocked off the edge or thrown high above, You will need to learn the moves of the Master Hand and they will always be used every time you play. Be extremely careful and use your shield. If you can jump to dodge, use that first and use your shield as a last resort especially to the end of the battle. Defeat the Master Hand and you can make your way to the credits and possibly something to unlock!

Unlockables
In Super Smash Bros you are able to unlock 1 stage, 4 hidden characters and a few extras. Earning these rewards are easy but it is still pretty cool. You will need to challenge each of the characters to a fight and if you beat them you will unlock them. If you fail, you will need to try again by playing the game that unlocks them.

Luigi - Unlocked by completing the Destroy the Target bonus stage with the first 8 characters of the game,

Captain Falcon - Unlocked by winning the single player game in less than 20 minutes.

Jigglypuff - Win the single player game to challenge Jigglypuff.

Ness - Complete the Normal difficulty with only 3 lives or less.

Mushroom Kingdom - To unlock this you will need to complete single player with the 8 original characters.

Item Switch - Available after playing 100 matches (length does not matter)

Sound Test - Unlocked after completing all character's bonus stages for Target and Board the Platform.

Mew - After unlocking all 4 characters you will have a 1 in 151 chance of getting Mew out of a Pokeball. (Looked this up)

Multiplayer
Mushroom Kingdom is only playable in Multiplayer mode. You can battle up to 3 other players in Multiplayer and play with different settings. You're also able to change the color of your character's uniform. 100 plays on multiplayer stages will unlock the item switch where you can turn on and off certain items. This way if you wanted to play with only Pokeballs you can or hammers or any other means.

I hope that this guide proves helpful to anyone who plays this game. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, issues, problems, thoughts or anything in general please message me here on this thread or message me in a private message and I will get back to you.

I hope that this guide proves helpful to anyone who plays this game. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, issues, problems, thoughts or anything in general please message me here on this thread or message me in a private message and I will get back to you.

I knew you would submit a huge post towards the end of the day! I was expecting it to happen! Anyway, this was really great as usual and I think you put a lot of effort into making your reviews and guides/ walkthroughs for games so throughout and well written. There is a lot of effort put into this and you amaze me with the enormous posts you make each day. It is just simply amazing and you should definitely recommend me a game to do a walkthrough for so I can get this good. Amazing job man. You never fail to impress me. This is just like an average sized post for you I'm guessing, because you've put out near 10,000 word posts before. I think that is great and you are dominating the competition out there man. Nice work. Keep up the great work as always and keep making more helpful walkthroughs. This is very useful and will come in handy for a lot of people! Nice job man. You always impress me!
