Did anyone watch Smallville and thought it was a good show? My wife and I are looking for a new show to watch but something that is done so we don't have to wait a week or more for the next episode.

Just looking for opinions on the show really.

Smallville follows Clark with his friends (that is Clark, for the most part...until about Season 3) through high school and the next six years.  Luckily, you do not have to be overly familiar with the movies to understand where the story is going (since the story of the movies is all but irrelevant to the show) but naturally a familiarity with the characters would be preferable.  If you are a fan of Superman, you will enjoy watching as he discovers his powers, befriends Lex, learn various histories, and possibly see characters you did not know much about to begin with.
To answer your question, yes; you have my recommendation, for what that is worth.

I think the general consensus is that Smallville has been a great show up till like the last 3 seasons. They got a little weird on their take on the mythology. Anyways, if you are a comic book fan of Superman, it is an interesting take on Superman as a teen up to finally taking up the mentle of Superman. It's interesting because the comic books don't really talk a lot about his younger years. It can be a little teen drama-y but I think it is pretty well made and I think they are at their best when they make it with heart or with strong emotions. I would recommend it!

geeogree: I watched bits and pieces of it, to be honest. Not too much of it. But, what I can tell you from what I did see was that it was pretty good. I know that the end of the series is supposed to tie in with the new Man of Steel, though.

I watched one episode of it, and I loved it, but I was really young back then, and I couldn't stay up late which sucked cause it aired at 10pm, but whenever my parents let me stay up late, I would always watch. Now I can't fine a channel to find it(It used to play on YTV, if you're Canadian) and it sucks not having to watch it.
