Will scanlines harm my monitor? I have a ZSNES emulator and I play it for long periods of time. I like to have 25% scanlines and fullscreen enabled, but I am curious to know if I leave them on will they burn an image into my monitor?

Someone please help!

It is possible but if you have an average or better computer screen it shouldn't.
From experience I have never had anything burnt into my monitors.
But it may be possible.

Erm.
What are Scanlines?

I'm saying this probably because I've never gotten them, but I think what you mean, and if they happen they ONLY happen if my room drops in temperature drastically (During Winter). Only then will I get what I think you're explaining...

But yes.
Any good recent LCD monitor (As far as I know) should be fine. And should not get scan lines.

If you do.. Might be a Graphics Card issue. Or something else. :/

I have an older monitor ... it's not flatscreen.... don't know much about it. Do you think it's good enough to resist? I have been playing for a little while now and nothing looks bad so far.

Neyro... Scanlines are a filter you can use in an emulator to make it look more like an actual Telivision. I also know what your talking about and I've never had that problem.

Well in that case I am not sure.
I haven't had a non-flatscreen for many years now.
And back then I didn't really spend much time on it at all.
Sorry can't really help you much.

Non- flatscreens are obsolete. Plus, yours is old so sell it already before it malfunctions. It's important to upgrade your computer if you want to keep it at good condition.

Just like cars. Better buy a new one after 4 years because those years are the best years of usage of a car. Once it reaches 5, it will start to have complications.

Try and keep on topic people.
No, scanlines should not harm your monitor in any way.
I wouldnt use them personally because I would rather a clear picture, but either way they should not affect your monitor.
Well, no more then anything else affects an older CRT type screen anyway.
