I am going to give some helpful tips and tricks to help out. From awesome leveling spots, to things easily overlooked.  I am making this due to the fact I have overlooked most of these obstacles. *I am not looking for credit. Please just pass along this information, this way we all can enjoy gaming without the frustrations*                                                                                                                                                                      One of the most overlooked obstacles from this game, the first hidden chest. Here is where it is. The first time you come across it IS THE ONLY TIME *Sorry for the caps but that is a very important fact.* The first time you go to the mushroom castle following toad, he slowly moves through the main hallway. Jump on his head as soon as you possibly can, he walks through the door leading towards the door leading to the small hallway towards the throne room. In the main hall jump above the door toad goes into, there is an invisible ledge and a hidden chest up in that area. *Press f2 to save state, f4 if you miss out on it, rinse and repeat until you get it*
The 3 musty flags. You get hints as to locations, here is a summary of the hints and locations of all 3. First go to monstro town and sleep in an empty room that only contains a bed in the center and a mushroom lamp on a desk. While asleep you will be challenged to find 3 flags. *I am going to do this in a weird way I hope it makes sense*. One flag is under a green bed. *Marios bed, keep moving around the edge* Another is between o and a *Yoshi island run to the end of the racing track, search between the o and a* Last is behind a wooden flower. *The wooden welcome sign of rose town. Search around the flower until it is found* Boom!!! All 3 flags, just go back to monstro town, into the room and rest. You awake with a badge.                                                                                                                         Leveling up. Some people know of the star in a box, others may not. If you wish to use them as a way for fast levels, here is a nice trick. 1. Please un equip all gear 2. Save your game. 3 after using the star the next battle you go into, you must be defeated. 4.You will start back at the save point, the exp you got stays with you. Here are some, may not be all locations, *Might not be the full locations, I do apologize if I miss even 1, shows a lack of knowledge on my part*. The first one is in bandit's way, You follow croc through an almost maze like section *He exits through the top left section*. You find croc trying to get to a box on a slow rotating platform, the box he tries to get is a star box. The second star box location is in the sewers. One area after you come up from a green pipe, to the left is 4 mice walking around in a pattern. There will be a box near the pipe you emerge from, bingo that is the star box.  Moleville, inside the mine. * I do not know the exact location, this one confuses me I do apologize greatly* You will come across an area, where you will be up on broken beams, there will be bob-ombs walking around, there will be a box up top with them, yup yup star box.                   Making this star box away from the others, this one is the one I use every time I play. When you are going into the sea, you first go through seaside STOP IN SEASIDE!!! *You got it highly important item here, one of the tadpoles is in this town. If you have 22 frog coins, grab it.Trust me you will be happy you did.* Now that you hopefully got the exp booster, un equip all gear from the people in your party. *I use Mario, peach, and mallow.  They seem to have lower defense, unless you use the level up bonus to get it over and over* Save at the inn in seaside and head towards the sea.  You will run past a room with a shaman npc *shop keeper* keep to the lower room. This room is full of sleeping starfish, do not fight a single one of them. On the lower area of this floor, you will see a box, Could it be?, Will I say it? Yes I will, STARBOX!!! With all the starfish in that room, and a handful in the next, very very good exp farming area if I say so. If you move fast enough, you can clear out the room with the star box, as well as up to 3 in the next area. REMEMBER after the effects of the star wear off you must be defeated in the next available battle. You will be warped to the save area, all that bounty of exp will stay with your people.   At land's end there is a star, but you buy it for 400 coins from a shaman hidden behind stacked boxes. You will have to drop down a large hole, you will know the room due to the fact it is filled with gecko monsters. In the top left area you will stop the boxes, behind them a shaman man who will sell you a star.  The last star to my knowledge is in nimbus land. Inside the castle none the less. This star is short lived and not very useful. You will be chasing dodo, while in pursuit you will come across a box, indeed it is the awesome all powerful star box. You will get a short amount of kills from this one, but every bit helps I guess lol.                                         My last tip to you all for this guide. The best gear for Mario. Lazy shell weapon and lazy shell gear. First of all you will need 2 items to accomplish this, a seed and fertilizer. The seed is in bean valley, it will drop on a sign from one of the sly guys, so please keep an eye open. Fertilizer will be in nimbus land, after you free the king and queen it is available to get. Once you free the town from the fake prince, and his annoying fiancé head to town and walk along the lower right hand side of the map. There is an invisible path leading to a lonely sly guy. Talk with him and he will give you fertilizer if you let him go. Once you have both head to rose town, talk with a man who wants to plant with the legendary seed and fertilizer, his house is on the north end of rose town. Give him both and he will plant them for you, wait a bit and a bean stalk will grow. Get up that beanstalk and claim the best gear for Mario. At roughly level 25 Mario took very little damage, even from culex.                                                                                                                                                                                          I hope this helps everybody in there journey. The journey to hunt down and conquer, please share this information with others. I hope it helps, these were things I myself suffered from frustration over. Game on and game hard
