In 2003, Nickelodeon released quite possibly one of the greatest spongebob squarepants video games of all time, This game is none other then Spongebob squarepants battle for bikini bottom! The game was critically acclaimed by all spongebob fans to be awesome, fun, and extraordinary! Now besides all that, They also released a version for The Game boy advance, And THQ not only managed to butcher one Of the greatest licensed games of all time, They also ripped off all of their fans! Ugh...let's just get into this mess....

The story behind this game is that one day in spongebob's house, Spongebob and Patrick are playing with their robot action figures, Then later Spongebob wishes that robots could come to life! But he gets way more then he expected, because meanwhile The evil plankton is working on some robots that he will be using to help him do his work at the Chum bucket, now this all sounds Handy dandy as sweet as candy, EXCEPT! Plankton accidentally sets the Robot machine to "DON'T OBEY" Now because of this, His robots are now flooding through the streets of bikini bottom! Spongebob Patrick sandy and friends must work together to stop this invasion!
Gameplay-5/10
The gameplay in this game is way different then the console versions, In the console versions you go through big worlds and collect golden spatulas to unlock more worlds. But in this version, there is none of that! So let's just get into it, You run through big levels defeating robots and another thing, you must collect 3 golden spatulas to actually clear the level, It's a good idea poorly exocuted....The levels are extremely tedious, Most times you don't have any idea where to find the spatulas! There are also 20 krabby patties to collect in each level, but collecting all of them just gives you a photo in the photo album, It is completely useless! Ugh I don't have anything else to say about the gameplay...I'm done!
Graphics-9/10
Hmm! The graphics are one high point in this game, They are all big bright colorful and bursting with atmosphere! Same with all the locales you will be exploring in the game, the characters are extremely recognizable too. The HUD is pretty explanatory also, The bottom of the screen shows Your current amount of lives left until you get game over, How many life points you have left until you lose a life, How many golden spatulas you have left, And how many krabby patties you have collected. That's one high point of this game.
Sound-6/10
The soundtrack..It is pretty catchy if you can say that, All the songs in each level seem to suit the levels very nicely! As for the sound effects...They are pretty bland if you ask me, theres a sound when you jump, A sound when mystery eats something, A sound effect for whenever you get an extra life, etc. Not anything else really...But least there's music!

Man! This game is just so boring! I have alot of reasons to say why, One reason is because It just doesn't have the same charm as the console version! This is most likely I'm never going to play again! SHELF IT!!!!!!!!

Oh goody! Depth! The only amount of depth in this game is Collecting all the photos for the photo album, But I never did, So I never will...One thing I would like to do to this game is Throw it in the gutter!

I like a challenge, but this is just too much! Like I said, Half of the time You won't even know where half of the spatulas are! So this will make up for a very challenging game...The bosses aren't anything much also, But they are from the console versions! Such as robo sandy, Robo spongebob, Robo patrick, Heck! There's even Robo squidward! He was supposed to be in the console version but they cut him out for for no apparent reason!

It is a Huge waste of your money, I'm lucky I didn't pay for this, I got it for free at my local pawn shop, But otherwise, I suggest you buy The spongebob squarepants movie, Both the console version and the handheld version of that game is pretty good!
