When my parents finally figured out that I could operate the SNES by myself and without them sitting there reading the instructions for me (I was 4).

Another one was when I fell asleep playing Kirby on the SNES and managed to defeat meta knight in my sleep. My brother and best friend were watching me the whole time and couldn't believe it, i was snoring too apparently.

My first console that I can remember was N64! I remember the day it came out I was so excited I was also really young back then. I remember at school we use to take sides your either N or your Out lol. Constant debates on what is better PSX or N64. But yea lots of the memories where from Zelda Ocarina of time and Goldeneye, those where the days

I also owned a GameBoy, GameBoyColor GameGear, PSX, Dreamcast x 3 lol... they all got sold because I sometimes get buyers remorse haha. A year or two ago I litterly went to walmart at 3am and bought a GameCube to play RE4, then returned it later in the week and got my full refund

Let's see, if we go back further, 3DO, Sega Master System, NES, and SNES are a few systems my parents/brother had and got to play but I didn't own those.

To add on to list heres 2 in game memories:

1. FF7, my brother told me I got to play bad guy and I believed it, I sat there for hours playing (thought I was playing lmfao I was too young to know)

2. MK, Managed to freeze eachother with subzero at same time was awesome! There's probably a lot more but that's it for now.

Probably the most memorable memory, I have had with video games was when I was 4 my sister got a Gameboy Color for her 9th birthday with Pokemon Red version. I was amazed. I had no idea anything like this ever existed! i played constantly but I kept having to ask my mom "What does this say?, What does this say?, What does this say?" over and over and over again till finally she said I had to learn to read before I could play anymore. I learned to read in less than 2 days to play video games.

Haha, I don't think that's healthy Solehite. Yet impressive.

I would say my favorite memories in gaming is when I beat a really long RPG like Legend of the Dragoon and Phantasy Star IV and other games.

When Digimon first came out. The toys, games, and t.v. shows spreaded like fire ants. I used to watch the shows every time it came on at FoxKids network. Everyday after school, I would watch that show as a kid back then. I remember watching the movie that came out at theaters. That was a kick ass movie. The toys and games were great too, I still have the Digimon game for Playstation. Now its gone...

Thats probably my most memorable memory in my childhood years.

My favorite memories are...

Playing NES and SNES with my cousins. They liked watching me play FF4 and hearing the story. When we played Zelda II, we'd always hide behind pillows when we'd lose so we wouldn't see Ganon pop up. I guess when you're 5 and 7 that is a little scary to see that, lol... And of course we liked playing Maniac Mansion. I can't remember if we put the hamster in the microwave, but I know we killed the players off when we got bored.

Also playing Mario Kart with my dad. He always thought he was the best with the Koopa Troopa (but he wasn't).

Playing the first MegaMan game when I was three. It amazed me then, and it amazes me now. I remember that day so well. Not only is it one of my best gaming memories, it's one of the best memories of my entire life.

Nothing can compare with that for me. That was the game that introduced me to MegaMan.

When I finally beat Tabu in Brawl is a pretty good memory for me. I was a kid when I beat him, so since I wasn't really that great at video games yet I was pretty happy. When played the game again a few years later I could beat Tabu easily.

I'd have to say when I first played Ocarina of Time. Really, the whole first playthrough was just plain epic.

Also, you are not alone in thinking the game over screen on Zelda 2 was scary. I think im gonna make a new thread...

I've got three top ones.

Even though it took save states in an emulator, finally beating the game Fester's Quest. The save states are essential if you don't want to have to start from square one every time you die.

Beating Sonic the Hedgehog 2. That was, for me, as a kid, the hardest of all the Sonic bosses. I only beat him once when I was playing it on the console game. Of course now, he's easy as pie since I'm older and am able to strategize better.

Beating The Showdown on Sonic Spinball (Genesis) given a time limit (Sonic Gems Collection, unlockable content) and seeing all the credits. This was a difficult to reach, easy to beat boss where timing is the only thing that truly mattered.

And those are my favorite memories. Only the second isn't recent.

This a nice thread I somehow missed. I have a few really good memories. One that I recall the most, probably because it's more recent than the others, is playing Metroid Prime while drunk at my brother's apartment a few years ago when he was in college. Whenever I had a couple days off from working (I'm in the Army) I would drive to my brother's place which was only an hour away from my unit's mobilization station. He was usually busy with school depending on what days I had off, but once in a while it would be on a weekend. During those days times we would drink. Not a whole lot, but that one particular night I got wasted. We were taking turns playing Metroid Prime. It was fun just hanging out with him. I remember that night we had just gotten the X-Ray Visor and I was fighting against the Spectral Chozo. I was doing great for being drunk.

Other than that, playing Smash Bros and the Armored Core series with one of my best friends every night until 2 a.m. was a lot of fun. We logged well over 1000 hours together playing those games back in the day.
