What are your favorite "darker than the usual" games from Nintendo/Sega? Usually, these kinds of games don't live up to their potential, often becoming known as "black sheep" (disappointing/odd ones). Three of my favorite ones so far are Metroid, Sonic CD, and maybe Zelda: Majora's Mask? (I'm not sure about Majora's Mask, because that game is just impossibly convoluted and confusing.) Also, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door starts to become pretty dark late in the game. What are your favorites?

My favorite "Darker than Normal" game would have to be 999 (Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors) for the Nintendo DS. The game is very intense and a different style than most game that people play, at least in America, with many different dark ending, and a few that are not quiet as dark. Even so, the entire game has a much darker feel than most.
