The Banjo-Kazooie series has been said to be one of best platformers on the Nintendo 64. Rare not only developed that series, but also Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Perfect Dark; 3 other major N64 titles. But in 2002, Microsoft bought the company for $375 million, and many years went by without a hint of a Banjo-Threeie, which was foretold to us during the ending of Banjo-Tooie, just like the first.

However, during the X06 Media Briefing, a newly designed Banjo and Kazooie emerged as well as a new title "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts". In 2008, it was released but had a new style and vehicles were introduced. It moved away from the platformer genre because the newer Rare developers felt that the genre was losing its fan base to other rising genres like FPS and RTS. Many original Banjo-Kazooie fans felt that they were let down and feared they may never see their long awaited title.

It turns out not only the fans are hopeful for a Banjo-Threeie. Grant Kirkhope, a former Rare Composer had this to say:

"I keep wishing that all the ex-Rare staff, there’s lots of them about now, would just get together and form a company, and go to Nintendo and say “give us the money. We’ll make you Banjo 3 for the Wii U or whatever”.
Just make Banjo 3 like it should have been made back then and it would be great, and it would be great on the Wii U."

I must say that I'd love to see this happen. Rare and Nintendo seemed to have worked better together than Microsoft is with Rare and it seems they are not putting any good games out there. But on the other hand, I'm sure if they took making a Banjo-Threeie seriously, Microsoft can make that game that we have all been waiting for. And maybe...just maybe we can learn the secret to the one thing we all want to know about, the mystery of Stop & Swop!

Banjo Threeie is just a pipe dream at this point. When the Banjo Kazooie games came out originally, Rare was at its peak with its published games, along with DK 64, but now that Microsoft bought all rights and basically ruined any Banjo Kazooie hopes with its recent disgusting game, it's pretty far away. We'll keep hoping, though.

No way, no many how many layers of Dante's inferno you may travel, it is impossible, the companies working on it Banjo Kazooie made nuts and bolts, that was technically threeie, and look how that sad mess turned out, I am sorry lad, the future is glum.
But hey, I head a release date for a release date for half life three is coming out in less then a decade!

The365Master : Well, the developers seem to think that Nuts & Bolts wasn't the official Banjo-Threeie and the fans sure feel the same. As it stands now, if nothing else is done in the future, then Nuts & Bolts will be considered to be Threeie. I'm just hoping somehow Rare doesn't stay with Microsoft because I'm sure they would go back to Nintendo and we'd definitely see it then.

I doubt that a true sequel, or really any real Banjo game will come with Microsoft. I feel that Nintendo getting the rights back to them is the only way that we will see one. But unless that happens, it won't happen. Microsoft is oblivious to the following that the game has. With how Nuts and Bolts went, the next "Banjo" game that they create will be a FPS.

I doubt that Nintendo will ever buy Rare back to make Banjo Threeie, they don't really care about the requests of the fans. Even if they did make Threeie, it would probably be terrible because of Rare going through the Dark Times of Microsoft. It would be changed at least slightly because of the popularity of platform games at the moment.

Pokegeek : Whoa, buddy. Nintendo is usually fair with their fans and sometimes goes out of their way to help, as far as I have seen. My brother and some friends of his paid to watch a Smash Tournament that was being streamed through some site a few months ago and the site raked in thousands of dollars. It turned out there was a legal reason the site couldn't stream the tourney so a ton of fans went to the Nintendo site, sent mail about the situation, and Nintendo gave the O.K. to the site.

And as for Rare, I think if they had the opportunity to make a "true Banjo-Threeie" came, they would take it run with it. It would be their one and maybe best shot for them to put out a game people will like and get their name back out on the main stage, ya know? That's what the original team wants, at least.

Rare is owned by Microsoft. And seeing how disastrous the last installment, if you can call it that, was. I doubt they will ever make another one. So my answer would be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvdf5n-zI14.

Microsoft is the worst thing to ever happen to video games and especially console gaming. They ruined rare and they have never made a good game besides maybe halo which I think is pretty average

A user of this : That's pretty much why I say they should sell back Rare to Nintendo or Nintendo should make an offer. The first 2 games were great and I don't think Rare is doing well with Microsoft. Not to mention we were promised "Banjo-Threeie", not a new vehicle-building type game called "Nuts & Bolts".

The closest we will ever get to a third Banjo Kazooie game is Nuts and Bolts, which is surprisingly pretty good
It will never fill the void and it pains my greatly to know that we may never see them again
