Here are a few things that will make this game a little easier

A. Take the time to train.
this may seem boring but it will make the game easier. Also, train all of your party members. 

B. Use your items wisely.
Every usable item should be used only when necessary especially sensu beans. If you are not in a boss battle keep returning to the same area that you were just in and smash the rocks there. They contain energy or health.

C. SAVE OFTEN.
This may seem a given, but it is really important in this game. You do not want to find yourself an hour into the game and die and realize that you hadn't saved once. Also, remember where the save spots are at. They are big blue platforms that have an S on them and they are also used to change characters.

D. Know your enemy
Some enemies you just need to pound to a pulp. Others you need to blast from a distance. This especially shown when fighting android 19 and 20. They can only be punched. If you shoot them with energy shots then they gain health back.
