You lose 10 Viz for making threads. If you can't afford it, you can't make a thread.

However, for each reply to your thread, you get 50% of whatever that person earns in Viz. So you get 20 replies to your thread and each of those people earned 10 Viz on their replies, you'd get 5 Viz for each of those replies totaling 100 Viz.

The bigger your posts, the more Viz you earn. however, small posts under 5 words make you lose Viz. If your Viz is less than 25, you no longer can make a post smaller than 5 words until you get your Viz back up.

This is all part of a spam control idea I came up with to reduce the number of crappy posts and threads but also a way to increase the amount of Viz people get for making good threads.

If anyone encounters any problems with this new system, please let me know.

Out of all the forums I've been on, this is the best way to reduce spam that Ive ever come across, great work Davideo.

Yeah and I'm just really amazed I didn't think of it earlier. I knew it was about time I thought of a new feature for the board with all the spam going on and crappy threads being made left and right but I'm just happy I found a solution to many of the problems we were starting to face.

Now to see how well it works.

Yeah, it really is a good idea.

And I like how it rewards good threads. If your thread gets 200 posts in it then you deserve a chunk of that too....

and it'll stop the newbies from making threads early on (or at least some of them) because it'll take away Viz that would otherwise be used on games....

It's a good idea David. I really like it. And it can stop spammy people, spamming the board.

I like this idea, but does this include the threads made by the new people introducing themselves in the newbie forum?
We might get less people introducing themselves because they dont have Viz when they first join. Just a thought..

Yeah it does include newbie forum threads. I could make it so it doesn't but than there's a problem of newbies posting more than intro threads in that forum which some already do.


A lot of newbies who run out of Viz to play there games though are going to have at least 10 Viz. Why?
Pokemon is the first game they usually play which equals 35 Viz (or another GBC game).

35 +
35 (another gbc game)
= 70 which is only 30 Viz left.
Now they could go and play a 20 Viz game system but they'd have 10 Viz left. if they decide to not play anything else, they got 30 Viz left.

50 (sega genesis game)
= 85 which is 15 left over

35 +
20 (a 20 Viz game)

= 95 which is 5 left over (yeah in this case they wouldn't have enough)


Either way, if a newbie doesn't have enough to make a newbie thread, all they really need to do is make 1 good post which can be easily done by welcoming another newbie. If they're unable to figure that out, than they don't deserve to post in the first place lol.
