I'm trying to find out of there's a way to recover an old save state for my Pokémon Emerald game. When I opened the RGR to play Pokémon Emerald, I accidentally his F2 and saved over my game at the opening screen.

I've gone into the Plug in data folder and found the folder with my save file in it and I've found these files:
Pokémon Emerald.sav
Pokémon Emerald. sgm

Is there no way for me to recover older save dates?

You can't recover previous saves. You just accidentally saved over your save. There is no way to get it back other then playing through the game again. Sorry

That used to be feature on the site. Every save was also put in a 'save bank' that you can get on the site. however, as more people joined the site, that bank started getting hundreds of thousands of saves, really slowing down the site. So it was just taken out completely.

7sinsofwonka : With all emulators, once you save state over the same slot, it over writes your save. Unfortunately there is no way to get your save back. It's happened to us all, just have to be careful.

There are sites though available that have save states that you can download and continue your game from. You can google "Save State website, or download save states" and you should find what you are looking for.

Feel free to PM me if you have any further questions regarding this matter.
