I love some of the Modern technology.
But.
I often ask myself if any of it is actually needed.
The new "Google Glass" has a camera that continuously takes photos or videos.
Is this too much?
Can it be solved by a piece of tape.? (To cover the camera lens.)
Will a hundred people go to jail due to the problems with privacy this thing will cause?
Speak up and Speak out.
Give me your thoughts on this new device that I will not bother with.

Good Luck To All.
Peace.

I think it will be a problem. I find it quite strange that they say "ooh, don't go too close to the tv" and "woah, your eyes will go square from all those games and TV Shows" and then bring out computers right in front of your eyes. These could cause eye problems.

It will cause problems, just as cell phones that can take pictures caused problems. Now people can record your credit card number without you even knowing it, they can let the camera roll as you put in your PIN, etc.

But we will "get used to it", and find ways to cope. For starters I would like to see a little LED light on the Google Glass that lets other people see when the user is recording, or taking a picture.

But this is just the first model, in 5 years they will be a lot more common and Google will have time to make changes with every model to keep the masses (mostly) happy about their privacy.

Like all technology before it Google glass will be used for both good and or evil there's no way around it. Google may put safeguards in place or some places may restrict or ban it's use, but there will be people who abuse that tech. Of course it's made for Google it'll just break most of the time without warning.

Google has association with the NSA surveillence scandal, and they save all of their IPs, search results, and everything for a reason, and that seems sneaky.

For paranoias sake, I see nothing but bad things coming out of Google Glass, a computer that is always on you, always seeing what's in front of you, always watching every move you make, and that just sounds plain sinister to me. Whenever I hear about it, I always seem to make a Terminator "Skynet" or 1984's "Big Brother" reference, the same thing with the Kinect 2.0. Say you're around an illegal situation, or doing a drug at home, you could be arrested for doing things in your own home.

The controls seem really flawed too, because Voice Control can be flawed if you have an accent, lisp, or any sort of speech issue, and that makes it inoperable for those people, leaving a closed market away from the disabled or foreigners. I really think that there should be some sort of futuristic looking touch controls on it, where you poke the air in front of you and that'll act as a sort of touch screen, but it has no sort of thing.
.
With the Kinect 2.0, it has to be on once every 24 hours, meaning that it needs a near constant check on you in order to function, and that's just not cool. I wonder if Glass will need that, too.

So to me, it's not really a tool for most, and it's a strange surveillence system that could aid Big Brother in keeping it's people in check. I personally know nobody that will buy it, the same with the Xbox One, and I want no association with it.

I really don't think that it is for the better, I think that this whole thing will mess up everything! I don't like it.

Is the new "Google Glass" a new tool or a new Problem.?, Well I can see where it will have its obvious problems in the department of privacy when out in Public, some one will find a way to zoom in on certain private body parts with the camera or recording feature and like someone else said the recording of credit card numbers but as much as the Google glasses cost  the average person won't be able to afford it so people that have it will be limited at first until some one makes a cheaper version. But still its a matter of privacy, I'd say take away the camera and recording feature for now because that feature will become a issue.

I have real issues with anything that basically constantly monitors you or is always on. :/ I just think it's a big privacy invasion and i wouldn't want anything like that around me for safety's sake. That's the main reason why I'll never get an Xbox One, even though some of the new games coming out look awesome. For one thing I'm not connecting to the internet every 24 hours and it's always watching...? No, no, no, nope. So this falls into the same category for me. I definitely think it's going to be a problem, but maybe (hopefully) I'll be proven wrong.

alexanyways :
I have no sympathy for those who break laws.
I ALSO have issues with the invasion of privacy.

If this is apart of human protection?
Then it is a gross waste of money.
This device could cause more problems than it's worth.

I seriously Doubt Any Professional in that field would condone such a tool when they probably already have something like it but better anyway.

Imagine all of the police layoffs if such a device was used in the manner you Hinted At.
Then Who comes to help you when you need it?
Try to keep in mind that Real Professionals do Real Work. Not endorse a gimmicky "tattel tell" device.

I mentioned problems that this device could cause in general.
If people no longer talk or read today? (After Internet.)
What else goes when this thing hits the streets?

Will people be less inclined to actually leave the house? Will People be less daring to try new things? When is the last time you saw a kid climb a tree?
I honestly see no good out of such a device. That records every waking second.

The legal nightmare is just one side of it.
Thanks for the post.
Good Luck.
Peace.
