I was wondering what was the hardest boss for you on any of the Final Fantasy's (If you have played any). I would have to say the 3 stages of Orphan on Final Fantasy XIII was the hardest boss for me, took me about 1 hour to do all 3 haha xD
I would also have to say the mini bosses on Final Fantasy XIII-2 with the Paradox Scope was really hard.I think I spent about 1 week to do all of it and many other bosses.

I would say Vargas in Final Fantasy VI. The reason is because I find it do hard to do a Blitz (or deathblow) command.

If anyone can tell me exactly how, please do.

I'd say Final Fantasy XII boss. He's the hardest boss I've ever fought. He's immune to everything, you don't know his HP, infinite MP. His name is The Undying. Yeah the name says it all, he can hit everyone with one spell and make your whole party "blind". But I killed him with the power of Bash, Vaan, and Balthier. Ending was cut throat too.

Final Fantasy 12- final boss- The Undying.

If by boss you mean a monster you only fight once, then the FF7 weapons (especially the underwater and desert ones) are hard as hell without instant-death weapons. Otherwise, the FF2 final boss is pretty hard without the blood swords, and those from FF4, FF5 and FF8 are pretty hard without substantial leveling up

Without a doubt, the hardest boss I have ever faced if ruby weapon from Final Fantasy 7. To this day I have yet to beat it, just destroys me every time. That doesn't stop me going back for more though, I will never stop until I beat that thing.

For me the toughest battle ever was Final Fantasy X: the battle against Nemesis. Ugh! What a long fight I had with that beast! Something like 50,000,000 health if I recall! Crazy!

A couple come to mind..

Omega from Final Fantasy 5. Even if you are set up perfect, he can kill you if he uses his best attack twice within about 4 rounds.

I think Emerald Weapon is the toughest boss from 7.

Omega from 8 is no easy task as well.

Well c0matoast I feel you but for me in final fantasy X is the aeons especially dark yojimbo but my bro said once you defeated dark yojimbo theres an ultimate boss  much harder than sin his name......its penance......so I still have an unfinished battle to do.....

Well, for boss fights I have to say ultimecia is pretty hard, as is adel, magicmaster from vi and marlboro menace, also from vi.( just in case you dont know final fantasy, anything that has marlboro in it spells trouble, except in ix and x). as for normal enemies, I would have to say all those annoying enemies that use level... spells if your party is on the same and/or wrong levels

With enough auras, Ultemecia is actually pretty easy (providing you can avoid being cursed). With Squall and that bare-hand fighter (and the one with the gun), she goes out easily

I agree when it's instant death. Otherwise, status-inducing enemies like Malboros/Oscars are the worst

I also have some problems with yunalesca from x and midgar zolom if you fight it on the early game on vii.

Omega from FF5 for the win.

Ruby WEAPON can be tough... grind only one character. To enter a fight with Ruby with all 3 characters alive is suicide. You need master summon, final attack, revive, counter, magic counter, restore, barrier, mp absorb, and w-summon on your only conscious character (W-Magic and Item help too). Connect MP Absorb to the Master Summon, Magic Counter to Restore, and Final Attack to Revive. The tactic is to set up a Wall and Regen on yourself then W-Summon KoTR because it is the only thing I have found that does more than a couple hundred points of damage. He will counter with Ultima and you will likely not survive 2 ultimas unless you have a Wall or M-barrier. If you can survive that, then rinse and repeat until destruction. If you can't... that's what the Final Attack + Revive combo is for. Also, you need the Master Summon Materia because it will take more than 5x KoTR to kill Ruby....

As for Emerald, I hear that the main trick is to go in with as little materia equipped as possible. Less materia means more HP, plus it has an attack called Tam Air Storm that does 1100 hp worth damage per materia your characters are equipped with... but I still haven't done this one.


In short, the WEAPONS can be prepared for... You can do everything right in FF5, and Omega will still mop the floor with you.

I would go with Varga in FF VII any day. The others aren't that hard!

Bah! You guys are missing the hardest of ALL the bosses.

Imagine you are playing the game for the FIRST time. FF7 is it's name. Now imagine you do not overlevel, and you do not buy many items at all because cure is op right? So you have like 2-4 hi-potions and a few potions laying around. Now imagine you go and get the tiny bronco from rocket town. No imagine you do a little exploring in the ocean and wind up on the continent of yuffie's home. And let us continue imagining that you actually go and get your materia stolen! Game over. Not only is it very tough to fight your way to Wu, but the hardest boss is obviously RAPS. aero 3 is so powerful against your party at a normal level. If you did not prepare for the fight (hence the imagine you were playing for the first time) he wiped the floor with you. Oh did I mention that you could not leave the area? It was straight hell. I remember being on that boss for far too long. I actually had to level up 15 times on stupid lions and beatles.

Do you mean Penance? At least that what it was called in the european version, this super boss. I personally don't know anybody who actually spent two hours let alone the grinding necessary to beat it.
