Hey guys, how do you feel about having girls on here? Hey girls, how do you feel about being almost an extinct species on here? About how many girls are there compared to guys? 4:100? Hmmmmmm....... Also, girls, how many games do you play? Are only on here for one game? Or are there some girls on here that are only here for the boys? I'm sure there are a few.

Yeah, it is nice you spent such a long time on the site to do this observation.

Also if you would have not made this as your first post (or second) you also might have noticed that many of our fine posters of the female gender are actually quite smart and excellent posters but not only that, accomplished gamers. People here are not for "boys" anymore than for "girls" either. We are here to game and discuss.  Many of our fine mods are female, like I am sure has come into your attention.

Oh. Never mind. Yeah, I'm convinced that more girls need to come to this website. Gamer girls are awesome, and it makes it really easy to talk to them about common interests. Not only that, but video games will be one of the defining things about our generation. I believe it will be kind of like the books of the past. It will be a tale of our generation. I think women not being involved in that really would make our society seem misogynistic.

But yeah... Other than that, a female's opinion really helps the board with a more diverse opinion set. Some of the girls we have on here already contribute in excellent ways.

Matter of fact.. I think only a handful of us actually complete our games before writing a review on them.
Very few actually report "Glitches" or "Easter Eggs" in any game. New or old.
Each day I am waiting for "Davideo7" to reveal he is a Nintendo Employee or Something.
The few women who are here are probably just brushing up on their Journalisim and Public relation skills.
I'll be impressed if any of them have completed any game.
No threads about "Tetris" Levels of unusual numbers.
No Major discussion of Character Creators limitations.
Not many conversations about Tomb Raider Or Metroid with anyone sporting a hint of estrogen.

For some reason the girls here want to talk about everything but games.
Religion.
Music.
Relationships.
Not one has made mention of any "cheatcode" yet. Not even the "Konami Code".

pray75 :  That's an interesting insight.  However, I'm actually one of the few who would rather be buried in books than games.  I'm -trying- to come to terms with more advanced technology, but it's slow progress.

fallenangelputto :  I wouldn't consider myself a -gamer-, but I play games from time to time, and I'm here.  Does that count?  I do think the ratio of guys to girls here is a little amusing, and just yesterday I was wondering why that's so.  Why are guys so much more attracted to gaming?  What's the intrinsic pull and why is it there?  Does it stem from a guy's need for action and adventure?

In any case, there are a lot of pretty nice girls here.  You might have fun getting to know

pray75 : that is exactly the way I feel on this subject. Some people are trying to hate, but it's just a few simple questions with many answers, which all are opinions. Yes there are certainly more guys on here than girls, and that isn't always a bad thing. Basically, I wanted to have insight from both males and females with these questions. 

No worries. They might have read your post in a rude tone, thus the reason why some of them said it's sexist. If you imagine it being said sarcastically, you'll know what I'm saying. That's why it's really important to make your tone of speech used in a post clear.*points at the smileys if words aren't enough for the job*

Ahem, to answer your question, I'm basically here for the forums. I play once in a while, but I usually download roms that I like to play and store it in my laptop instead of going online. I use RGR just to search for games that are interesting, I play for a bit, and then if I like the game I search for its rom. I don't use netplay since I really don't play video games with others except some casual ones with family or friends, other than that, I prefer to play seriously on my own.

Boys? No. If I want a boy I'd rather search for someone maybe at school, but not online. It's just to risky... and also having a boyfriend is still out of my mind. Maybe after I get a job.

I don't see how the presents of girls on any site in general would matter.
Honestly they can do as they wish unless they go all feminist and attack us... lol...

Honestly, the ratio of females to males on this site is not as small as it could be and I'm sure there are females who don't advertise it or avoid posting on the forums all together. So long as people enjoy the games or community then gender shouldn't be an issue at all. Just having fun and making friends that enjoy what you do should be enough. 

To answer some of your questions, I'm female and I'm ok with the ratio. Honestly, we're online, so it really doesn't matter to me what gender everyone is. We're all sort of anonymous. With that in mind though, I have met a few girls on here, some of us are just hiding with neutral names, like mine, where you can't tell if someone is female or male. 

As for what games I play, I'm fairly new to the site, so I'm only playing a Pokémon game or two and the first Final Fantasy. I want to beat them first before I start any of the countless others that are waiting to be beat! It's a thrilling thought to know I have so much to choose from though. 

On here to find boys? Hmmm, I think not. I could never do the online thing; a lot of people on here are from a variety of countries. I'd go to a dating site or snag a man from my surrounding area first. And at the current moment, I'm seeing someone.  I'm far too needy to do the long distance, online thing on here. Also, a lot of my guy friends are here are just wee little guys around 10 to 17 years old!

I hope my perspective helps adds to the female voice in a positive way, if only slightly.

I like having girls visit this site, I mean, a world with only guys isn't a world at all. It's nice to have common game interests as the opposite gender.
