I want to know what you guys thoughts are on Marilyn Manson. Do you like him? Do you hate him? Do you thing he is a freak of nature that should be wiped off the face off the earth? Do you wanna have his babies? Thoughts?

Personally, I think he is a genius! Have you ever heard him talk in an interview? He is also very attractive. (in my own twisted mind.) His music is ok. Half of it is at least. One half is totally awesome. The other half goes against everything I believe in (religiously). But hey, who am I to judge? He can think what he wants. It's not my life....

I have never met him In person but I like his music. Yea his style Is definetly different, but I wouldn't like to see his music vanish from the face of the earth. I consider myself a pretty normal guy but other peoples style Intrigues me.

I loved everything he did up until Mechanical animals. It was such a hollow album I did not listened to him until years later and I guess Holy Wood was a good album after all. Eat me drink was sort of boring also but in comparison, it was not bad. His autobiography was also fun to read.

I guess Man that you fear has my favourite lyrics and Antichrist superstar is still such a good album. It is so hard to think now that it was actually put together by a bunch of junkies in over a year. Or what I mean is... that they actually managed to complete an album that good.

I don't really like him as a person.  He can be really mean, rude, and just plain weird at times but that could just be for show.  I watched a documentary on him and he lives in a normal house and he is very artistic.  He is actually a really smart guy too.   I do enjoy some of his music though.  An example is "The Beautiful People".  I even learned that one on guitar.  I always seem to have mixed feelings about Marilyn Manson.

He is good at music but some of his songs were just... meh... I loved Sweet Dreams, I can actually do it on guitar, however he used to have strippers on stage with him, he also is a very dark sadistic man.
Elara : You are a fan, anything to say?

I like him because he is not afraid to express himself. He is smart, but does have a bad attitude. I think he has a kind heart though. He may seem like a tough guy on the outside but I think he is really a sad little puppy screaming for love and attention that he so desperately needs. He isn't afraid to speak his mind, that's for sure. Basically, If you don't want to hear something smarty pantsish (wanted to say something else but...you know) then you best keep your mouth shut. He is a very interesting man. Gotta love him though. I have never met him but I really want to some day.

No idea who GG Allin is, so that should give you an inkling of how popular he was. Shock rock was used by many artists, so if I wanted to, I could call Allin a Ozzy or Alice Cooper wanna be. Just saying.

Of course none of you have ever met him, why say it? It wasn't asked.

That said, yes, I am a Manson fan. I own all of his albums, though I do tend to pretend that Eat Me Drink Me and High End of Low don't exist with the exception of maybe two or three songs (I know he likes experimenting with genres, but emo is just bad). I have seen him in concert three times now. My first concert, at 16, was seeing him and Godhead at the Guns, God, and Government World Tour (for Holywood), and it was awesome. Later that same year I got to see him at Ozzfest where he was the second headliner after Black Sabbath (that whole concert was just awesome by the way). Third time was last year for the Hey Cruel World... Tour in support of the latest album, Born Villian. He has aged a bit, but he still puts on a great show. I am hoping to get to see him and Alice Cooper this June for the Masters of Madness tour since I think the two together would be freaking amazing!

I am actually quite fond of the triptych albums (Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, and Holywood), as I think the concept of the three arcs are quite interesting. My favorite songs, however, come off of Portrait of an American Family (Dogma and Dope Hat) and The Golden Age of Grotesque (Spade). I love, love, love his cover songs, especially Sweet Dreams. I think that he does a great job of keeping the essential sound of the original songs while making them darker and more... well... him. The new album, Born Villian is a great return to his harder style and I am hoping he sticks with it.

Now if only he'd grow his hair long again.... Sigh.

As for off the stage... he is a very intelligent and soft spoken person and I think he is very interesting to listen to. I do think that over the years he has let more of the on-stage persona seep through... if you look at his older interviews it is much more of Brian Warner than Marilyn Manson (for those who are looking at the screen and going "Wha??" Brian Warner is his real name).

I want to go see him in concert so bad but I am only 15 and my parent's totally disapprove of the music I listen to. My mom went on the Internet to see if she could buy me tickets as a birthday present but she looked him up and was like "what is with all this Antichrist s***!?" That was the end of that......Then I asked her and my dad if I were to enter in a contest and win tickets to one of his concerts would they take me. They said heck no and the only person I could probably have convinced to take me would be my kind-sorta uncle that is atheist and would have to bring my 2 closest friends along because they would be jealous.

I am a fan. I am actually going to a Marilyn Manson concert this summer. I've never been before and I've always wanted to see him live, so it should be fun.

I dig the dudes music but not his style.
No one ever heard of "Rob Zombie" touching politics and gracing the "Night Show."
But...
His music rocks.
That is the only thing anyone should bother gracing a measuring stick to due to it being his profession. (If you are into doing so with the measuring thing.)
That aside?
I can not get into his style.
Too much make-up and rules.
What is the point of being wise when you take 2 hours in the bathroom before you go places.???
I equate this guy to many music star that I dig "Artistically".
But.
Can not tolerate up close an personal.
I like the work.
I don't like what comes with it.
Take a note from "Lollipop Chainsaw".
Goths can make great music.
They can not how ever make sense.

Good Luck To All.
I'm done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.
