Hello out there members of vizzed my name is Josh aka c0matoast and I am excited to join your community! I am a 28 year old male from the US state of Maine who thoroughly enjoys retro games across many different platforms. In the past I used to play mostly super NES and Sega Genesis games but over the years I've really grown to love what portable gaming devices have to offer. I love going through the massive collection of GBA titles and trying out a good portion of them now that I've found a great new way to play them! I am a huge fan of Nintendo and always will be, in fact I currently own a 3DS XL with many games both old and new already filling up 12 gigs of memory on 2 different SD cards.

Some of my favorite video games of all time are Chrono Trigger, Double Dragon (series), Streets Of Rage (series), Tekken, The Legend of Zelda(1, L2TP, OoT, MM, MC), Fire Emblem: Awakening, Battletoads In Battlemaniacs, Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow, Joe & Mac(1 & 2), Aero The Acrobat, Demon's Crest, FFX (1 & 2), Goldeneye 007. The list could really go on and on as I have so many great memories from so many great games!

Anyway I hope to start getting involved with the community and perhaps review some of the many games I have played or am currently playing and reading reviews by others, hopefully leading to new exciting games that I've never heard of before! There's so many retro games that pass us all by while the game industry just chugs on ahead leaving many a forgotten game in the dust; I would like to pick them up and see if we missed another diamond in the rough!

P.S. I hope the subject title wasn't looked down on... Just figured it would be a fresh title amongst a sea of "Hello!" and "Hi!"s, which I was gonna say in the message itself anyway!

Welcome to Vizzed! I'm sure you will feel welcome here. Most of the people here won't bite. Well, sounds like you are a big retro gamer. How did you find this site? Well, if you ever need help, feel free to ask me or the mods for help. 

I found the site searching Google for online retro gaming and this was one of the top sites listed. I love that there is finally a way to play these games thru my browser now instead of having to find emulators and roms on my own! Its so much more convenient this way!

A lot of FF7 fans will probably hate me for it but I've never played it. In fact I played none of the PS1 era games. Never had one! However I LOVED the original and will most likely be taking on FF I & II Dawn Of Souls in the near future. FFX and FFX-2 I played extensively right down to obtaining 100% completion! I got stuck near the end of FFX2 when I came to the 100 level descending dungeon near the end of the game when I lost my apartment and my ps2 got stolen!

As a kid with very little money of my own I could never afford a great deal of these games and instead rented almost all of the time and missed out on a huge selection of games as well! I remember renting rpg's like a link to the past or lengthy games requiring save states and either never renting a game long enough to beat it or spying on the other renter's save slots to see what its like further down the games!  With that in mind I have finally gotten the chance to play Final Fantasy 6 and I am loving it.

Never had PS1 of my own either and was well over twenty when I played some of the classic games on it.

Ugh yeah, I hope someday we will have a way to run a ps1 emulator through the retro game room that would be a dream come true! I know its significantly more money and work however due to it being a disc rather than cartridge-based console. Always wanted to play Final Fantasy Tactics and Chrono Cross! Even my 6 year old lappy can't seem to handle epsxe tho, too bad!

I'm starting to poke around the MAME section next in between having developed retro gamer's ADD with FF6, Fire Emblem, Link to The Past, Super Metroid, Metroid Fusion, Super Castlevania, and the amazing Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots for GBA.

Thanks for warm welcome guys! With a community this large it can be really overwhelming at first to newcomers and you guys are all great at making everyone feel welcome! I look forward to making friends and sharing opinions and discussions in the community. I guess if there is anything I would like to know its what are the most popular boards here?

c0matoast : Welcome! It's nice to know there are people out here older than me, because at times I feel like a grandpa at 22. I'm fairly new here myself, but the people are warm and friendly, and if you follow the rules, they'll treat you as if you've been here forever!

Yeah I've been loving the site so far! Been on every day since I joined and have been recording videos for RGR of the games I play. Its been fun!

You seem like a pretty cool guy. Get around the boards more, and maybe you can get recognized. 

This brings an end to my newbie post as I become a regular member very soon! Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming to me on my first week here I think I've started to make a bit of a presence but don't think i'll just vanish on you guys! you are stuck with me now!
