This morning, my friend and I were playing Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. It was Winter, and I almost had all the girls' hearts up to purple. On Winter 14th, the 'Thanksgiving' festival (more like Valentine's Day) was going to take place and every girl who has a purple heart or higher gives you a chocolate to show they care. The only two characters with black hearts I had left on the 12th of Winter were Elli and Mary. On the 13th of Winter, I triggered Elli's purple heart event, so I knew she had a purple heart. However, Mary didn't go up to a purple heart that day, so I thought she wouldn't be coming by.

Winter 14th came around. I go outside, and Popuri gives me chocolate, then leaves. So I tend to my chores for a couple of hours before Ann came by, dropped off her chocolate, then left. I went to give the Harvest Goddess her daily offering and...Ann and Popuri were there! I was able to give them gifts and visit with them, even though it was a holiday. Maybe I forgot you could do this because I've played recent Harvest Moon games where the people don't show up until after the festival is over. Regardless, it gave me the idea. I went back home in time for Elli to bring her chocolate and I went to get Mary a gift.

After Karen left, I had two hours to get a gift to Mary. So I rushed up to the general store and wrapped up a piece of black grass (which Mary likes) and hustled over to the library. Mary was there....I gave it to her....and BOOM! Purple heart! So I ran back to my farm and waited...

She showed up! And gave me chocolate!

It was amazing.
