Joe's life.
                                                                                                                   A short story.
INTRO:
 Joe was always a daydreamer, even In school he was always thinking of girls or sports or anything else besides what was going on In the present. He came from a poor family, Joe was always thinking of others and would rather give then be selfish even to his own good. He had lots of friends but It seemed very rare for him to come across other people that wasn't selfish. Joe understood this, after all he thought people are genetically prone to be selfish, It Is just the way of the world.

                                                                                                      Chapter one: School daze
 Joe had barely made It In high school, It was the first day of school, most of his friends from his home town were their but for some reason Joe wanted to distance himself from them. Why would Joe act like this, maybe It was because he wanted to act cool In front of the new and older girls he was around or maybe he felt like he was In a new place and just wanted to start fresh. Regardless of his thoughts on the outside he looked like a stuck up. It wasn't long though and he returned to normal, hanging around his old friends as well as some new ones... 

 I remember the day like It was just yesterday when Greg moved Into town. Joe had met Greg while riding his skateboard In an empty parking lot. What was startling Joe was that Greg looked almost just like him, very similar but Greg was from a bigger city while Joe was used to smaller towns. It was only a couple of days and Greg enrolled In Joe's high school. Every one that knew Joe was saying " hey Is Greg your brother" and "Hey Joe, at first I thought you were Greg". The more Joe hung around Greg the more his style rubbed off on Joe. You see Greg had a problem deep Inside of his spirit that only emerged when he was drinking. Greg's mother had past away and Greg was deeply hurt by this. Greg lived his life reckless and did whatever he wanted to do. One night as Joe and Greg were hanging out, they decided to steal some bicycles and ride them to the next town and meet some girls that Joe knew. It was a big mistake for the both of them. When Joe came home his aunt was at the door saying something about the police being their and asking where I was and did he have a bike. Joe grow ed up around people that ran from their problems so he did the only thing he knew to avoid the situation, and that was to leave.

                                                                                               Chapter two: The girlfriend.

 Right before Joe met Greg he also met a new friend named Chet that had a sister. Joe's first time at his new friends house he met Amanda. Joe walked through the door and seen a beautiful blond headed girl that was staring at him. " Oh that's just my sister" said Chet, but Joe was stunned and he knew the stare wasn't just a normal stare. It wasn't long and Joe and Amanda were boyfriend and girlfriend. They would hang out, watch TV.  and do what couples do. Sadly Joe's girlfriend and her brother had moved away a month before Joe got Into trouble.So when Joe  heard the police was looking for him the only option he thought was to move away. Joe had contacted his friend Chet and stayed the weekend with him, his sister and Chet's family, after the weekend was over Joe asked Chet and his family If he could stay and live with them. Chet's family let Joe stay, he enrolled at the new high school that was a couple of counties away and was a bigger school then Joe was used too. Joe lived with them for about a year and was once again living wild, not really caring about school or anything else. Joe ended up hanging around the wrong kind of people and he got Into trouble again for stealing, this time though It wasn't just a misdemeanor. Joe had robbed a house with his friend Chet. Joe, being 17 went to county jail and Chet being 16 went to juvenile. As months went by Joe finally got released and was put on probation. 
                     
                                                                                             Chapter three: Hard labor 

Five years later and Joe had finished his probation, pay ed back the eight thousand dollar restitution fee and learned a hard lesson, Joe made a pact with himself thinking to never steal again unless It Is a life and death situation. The way Joe pay ed off his debt was by working for a framing company, building houses In the hot humid weather of the south. It was very hard work but Joe liked It. There was a certain freedom that comes with the construction industry as well as the people that Joe worked  with just seemed like Joes type of people. In the future Joe would continue working and living his life the way he wanted to but always keeping In mind to never get In any more trouble. Joe would never see his friend Greg again or his ex and their family. Later Joe found news that his friend Greg was sent to prison over shooting someone.
