I've been making my own custom Legos for some future stop motion videos I plan on making (you can see my latest work here) and I need some advice on the look. I have the option of using matte sticker paper or glossy sticker paper. I took a picture comparing the 2.

The objects on the left are matte and the objects on the right are glossy. Can you tell a difference? If so, which do you think looks better?

They don't look all that different, but I think the ones on the right look a little better. I probably wouldn't notice while watching a stop motion, but looking at them side by side, the ones on the right look better.

O.o  I didn't know you could make custom logos.... Wow, that's.... incredible!!!!  You're really going all out with this!
I have to agree with patar I think.  It doesn't look like there's MUCH difference, but the one on the right looks better from that shot at least.  Of course things always look different in real life, and in real life I would probably go for matte for most things.  So if that shot is ACCURATE, I'd go with the glossy on the right.

There's not enough information to choose.

On the one hand, the long block on the left looks better, but on the other the creeper face on the right pops out more.

I dunno, I'd need a little more information, though I think I like the Matte a little better. Though it could just be the lighting.

The ones on the right seem to make more of an imprint on the image, drawing gaze. I would go for them for that reason. However, they do seem to look rather blurry, though I don't know if that is the shine or the camerawork.

I don see much of a difference.  Although, the ones on the left look a little bit batter than the ones on the right.  I personally think matte would be the best route to go.  I have found that glossy attracts too much light and makes the quality go down a bit.

They don't look all that different but they have some differences, like the glossy looks better because the finish looks more like a normal Lego, so professional.  The Matte look kind of dull.

They look the same to me pretty much, but I would go with the right. It looks just that little bit more defined to me. But unless I was really looking closely, I would never be able to tell them apart lol

Matte makes the blocks resemble in game graphics (since the blocks aren't shiny in minecraft) but the Glossy blocks make them resemble more like Legos (since Lego pieces are shiny). So it really depends on what I want to put more focus on, keeping them look like Legos or making them resemble the game more.

One possibility is to go with Glossy with Mario pieces and Matte with Minecraft pieces. Some of the Mario sprites in Super Mario Bros give the impression that they're suppose to be shiny. When you look at the front of most Mario blocks, teh top left has a shine and the bottom left has a shadow.
