So yeah, Touhou is a series of computer games that has been around since 1996. Currently at 12 games and counting it has recently risen to one of the biggest underground game series in japan.

So what makes Touhou so interesting? Maybe it's the character cast consisting of over 100 characters or maybe it's the fan base that has made more than 100 albums of remixes based on the in-game music or maybe it's just fun?

If you guessed the last part, then you were correct, Touhou is fun, old-school fun.

Remember when you were young and playing such shooters as gradius and having loads of fun trying to clear the hard levels and avoiding bullets?

Well, if you thought that was hard then Touhou will KICK YOUR ASS!

The gameplay is simple, you versus millions of bullets, you get hit you lose a life, you lose all your lives and you die and have to start over. There's multiple difficulties to choose from but remember that only little kids play on easy.

Oh and I'm always up for some netplay in the fighting games. (IaMP/SWR)


Anyways, that's all I can bother typing out for now, finding the games is as easy as searching for touhou on your favorite torrent tracker or file sharing site. I may give some links in my next post if people are interested.

oh, I've seen that before... it's all about knowing where to put the ship.... it looks a lot harder than it is.... at least that's my opinion. I'm sure it's hard until you know which spot to fly around in....

but yeah, I've seen it, didn't know what it was called.

Well there's a lot of similar games but Touhou is pretty much the biggest and the best.

Oh and no, I can't clear those bosses at the top. Best I can do is normal difficulty. Which is quite hard too. D:

So after about 1 hour or so of playing this game..
I can safely conclude that..
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE *#&$ I'M DOING!
Way to mention that it's completely in Japanese, DM!
I spent 1 hour searching for an English patch only to find out one doesn't exist. XD
But I do have a favourite character, so I'm ready to get my ass handed to me anytime you're ready, DM.

So yeah, had a couple of matches against Neyro, he seemed to enjoy the game. Even if I had a hard time going easy on him.

Some of you fans of old-school shooters or fighting games should really check this out, I'd be willing to give you a copy of any of the games from the main series if you give me a quick message on MSN. (look in the IM thread)

Bullet Hell games are awesome. The Touhou series is definitely something everyone should experience!

The closest I've played to it was Hellsinkier.

Anyways, Touhou 12.3 (Hisoutensoku) the sequel/expansion to SWR will be released on august the 15th I'm very very hyped for this. I'll probably be going even more inactive when that date hits.

I love it, I beat EoSD and PCB, then my PC exploded. I didn't even get to beat Kanako. : (

I also love Marisa and Alice. goshdarn they're cute together.

I love Touhou, and I play Perfect Cherry Blossom and 12, it's awesome.
It came with a patch in the game I played, makes it much easier.
Hard game, best game. Opened me up into the world of bullet hell.

Why have I never heard of this. Now I'll have to be glued to the computer all week playing this game.
