hey this is for all my gamers out there.are u an ol skool gamer or a new skool gamer.

I would have to say that I am an old school gamer because they had a lot of great games that are very old and I love to play them.

So to elabarate, are you a retro or old school gamer (ie NES, SNES, PSX, Genesis, etc) or a new/next gen gamer (Wii, 360, PS3)?

I'm an old school gamer, games were made right back in the older gen, the games now are just rubbish.
To much focus on graphics and gimmicks and not enough on the actual gameplay, storyline and difficulty.
Older games wernt only "NES hard" because they were simple/short/had little else to them, there were alot that were hard AND had alot of story/levels/content.

Well, I like both but I would probably prefer a good PS2 game...


I guess that makes me a new school gamer.

I'm both, but I do prefer the newer games...it is hard to find a great game anymore though.

I prefer older games.... I could replay so many of those games... but games now, I feel like once I beat the game that I'm not satisfied that I beat it but relieved to not have to play it anymore.... it's like I'm lost part of my soul

I play newer games, but I'm definitely old skool at heart. In fact, I just beat Super Mario bros. for the thousandth time on my emulator.

I have about 6000 roms on my computer so...that should give some idea.

I will always be an old Skool gamer, but there is really no comparison between the two.

Games have evolved so much in a good way that you can't really say you don't like games today. Once new systems and games come out everyone will talk about how awesome the old xbox 360 games use to be.

That is how everything works.. you really love what you can't play anymore.

So new skool the games have better graphics and better plots

Games are on a steady decline downhill, the only thing improving is graphics, everything else is going straight to hell.
I would rather an actual storyline and 16 or even 8 bit graphics then no story and realistic pictures.

What games have you been playing then?

Because a lot of new games have good stories. Also with the ability to play games online now.. there is no comparison.

Playing games with people all over the world is the best thing to ever happen to videogames. You can't honestly say you don't play any new games. I agree that a lot of junk games are released every year, but there are enough good games to make up for it.

Wait until you get a bit older then you will realize that in about 10 years you will be wanting to play all of the games that are coming out now.

I would say Old School because there are tons of games that are easy to get into and play for good stories. Now a days they make them even harder to get and very complicated game play. But more so the hard to get part because of prices.

Im just a gamer... i like them all!!! But definately new school.

In all honesty I'm both, the thing that most people that say all new games are bad don't realize is almost all of those games that they are talking about are the cream of the crop of those eras. Many turn a blind eye to the thousands of bad games that were made back then. It is way too early to judge this generation as being completely and utterly bad. Has anybody played games like Lost odyssey and Blue Dragon both great RPG's made by Mistwalker on the Xbox 360.

The point is that when the PSX and N64 were released everyone was probably echoing the same sentiments, it happens every generation.

I'm definitely both. Though there are SOME new games that are actually good (that have a solid storyline and a lot of gameplay), I still prefer older games, almost all of which have those qualities. Also, some of the older arcade games are amazing

Ok you guys keep saying almost all of the older games have great stories and gameplay.. I think because you are only playing the good ones.

Play some of the games no one ever plays and you will understand why...It's just like the games today. There are good ones, and there are bad ones. So your telling me the old games like fester's quest for nes and warlock for sega are great games? Everyone keeps saying all the older games are all so good..no they really aren't.

There has never been a time where every game released for a system was good.. get real people..

There are so many old games that the amount of good games and bad games is greater than new games. So it's pretty real.

i cant vote for this, cuz i like them both. cuz i love classic or vintage cars like from the 60's 70's, chopper bikes, new gadgets like i-pod,loptop and mobile phones with tv, internet browsing and cool music on it. so why asking wich is better, wich is good, so love them all...

I've played a few, most of them rediculously easy, even on "hard" mode.
And yes, theres no comparison... I would rather play a game by myself then with a bunch of idiots.
Plus most multiplayer modes have no story, its just kill the opponent.
And what the hell is with all this achievement crap?
How is say getting an event item that you can't possibly not get an achievement??

I can honestly say I don't play any current gen console games.
PC and DS games, I play only a small amount. Most of them are remakes.
And I hate multiplayer.

No, no I wont, because I'm not some little kid with no money thats just complaining because things are expensive.
To sum things up, yeah there were bad games on the older consoles, but the amount of good games and the quality of those games was alot higher then compared to these days.

If they ever make a 360 that doesnt brake down or a PS3 that isnt rediculously overpriced then I might buy one and the RPGs on said console.

Well you're in luck DH, I heard there's gonna be a huge price cut for the PS3. Possibly, I heard, $200 worth cut off. PS3 will become more popular that way.
