Game Background: This game is a classic remake of the popular NES title Super Mario World. The game was developed and published by Nintendo, and was released in 2002. The game goes Bowser is at it again, Mario, Luigi, princess Peach and princess Toadstool(looks alot like princess Daisy), are picnicking in the mushroom kingdom, but Mario and Luigi leave the Princesses unattended to soar/glide around the mushroom kingdom, but when they return princess Peach is missing and its up to Mario and Luigi to save her! In this game you can either play as Mario or Luigi to complete stages, and there are top secret areas as well as a secret star road.
Graphics:The graphics for this game goes above and beyond what you would expect from a Mario game. The Bosses and level/stage layout is excellent with its graphics and designs, going into perfect visual effects and descr
iption. The color scheme and colorization for Mario,Luigi and bosses as well as the minions are perfect with no discoloration or abnormalities. It does give/does the Game Boy Advanced some justice because for a GBA game the graphics are just outstanding. So for Graphics I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Sound: The in game sound has a different soundtrack/song for each stage and world as well as in each castle. The sound acoustics and base are all in perfect pitch and can be clearly understood and heard. The characters do speak at points in the game(basically when ever a boss or Mario/Luigi dies) and you can easily make out what they say" ohhh momma me yah"for Mario and that's the only example I'll provide. So for Sound I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness: This game is highly addictive because of its huge diverse open worlds/stages, its top secret areas that are incredibly difficult to unlock/find and quite frankly beating the game completely(100%) takes alot of long dedicated hours and using "speed bar "really doesn't help you much in this game, which only makes you more likely to keep playing for long hours without stopping or breaks. I literally remember playing the cartilage of this on my Game Boy advanced SP for hours upon end. So for Addictiveness I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Story: The story is the same as any other Mario game, Princess Peach has been kidnapped by Bowser and it's up to Mario and Luigi to get her back, but this game offers something new to the franchise, different colored yoshi's,(Green,Blue,Red,Yellow), there is also a new power item introduced in this called cape it looks like a feather and gives Mario/Luigi the power to glide and fly it looks like this
.The game offers also an all new never before seen Mario adventure/world.So for story I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Depth:The game is huge, between its top secret areas, one of which that lets you choose your main power item, sub/backup power item, Yoshi and if you keep going back to it you will get eventually 999 lives. The game has another top secrete path/ area in it called star road and special which has its own levels completely set aside from main world play, to unlock these special areas on some levels you will find key's hidden some where and bring them to there key holes. So between beating the main levels as well as finding and beating the top secrete area levels, this game has an estimated game play time at about anywhere from 5-7 weeks. So for depth I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Difficulty: well the game isn't that difficult, the A.I. Does a sequence of attacks in the same order each time which isn't very hard to figure out a hole in the bosses plan of attack. So for Difficulty I gave this game a 8 out of 10.
Overall: Overall I gave this game a 9.8 out of 10, because this game does offer something new and a reason to keep playing, but it fails to produce a harder challenge, and change up the story/plot.
