Barathemos' Pokémon Leafgreen review This is what I think. First of all, I will be making a review of Pokémon Leafgreen for you. This game, I have to say, does have some flaws. Like I say with all of my Pokémon reviews: If you have not played a Pokémon game before, be careful reading this review, if there is something you have not seen before than stop at that time and just go and do something else. To get back to the game I am doing a review on. In Pokémon Leafgreen there lots of factors that will help pull up the average score, and there are things that will pull it down. First, I will give this game an overall rating of a 9.5. I do think that with all of its flaws it is still able to get a high grade. Before I go on, I will tell you that I may say some things that fans of the game do not like, please do not mind, this is just my opinion.
Graphics: 8 I think that this game is why ahead of its time with graphics. The graphics were very good compared to Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow. It seems as if the graphics doubled when this game came out compared to the first few games. When you add in all of the factors that it took to make the graphics look this good, it is quite impressive how they did that kind of greatness so early in video games. Do not post and say, oh Black Ops is sooooo much better, because I know that. If I were comparing this game to modern games than I would give it a one, but look at what time period this game came in! Why don't you compare this game to other game boy games? What I am trying to say is that this game looks a lot better than games of its time, but of coarse it is worse than some MW3 or whatever.
Sound: 10 By sound, I think of the battle music. When you think of sound in Pokémon games, do you think of the city, Pokémon center, or do you think of the battle theme for Lance, Team Plasma? If I were to pole this it would probably come out to 19 to 1 for battle music, so this is what I will base it off of. Some themes in this game are kinda lame, such as the wild Pokémon battle after the five-hundredth time. Some are good, such as the battle theme for the Champion, his is just awesome. When you want me to throw in routes and that kind of trash, it will not effect it very much. Overall sound; not so bad, actually it is great!
Addictiveness: 10 In one line, I will say, you will play this game again. I just can not settle on saying just that. Once you get to playing this game you will not want to stop until you are done, this is a very hard task. Playing this game with make you feel good, so why stop a good feeling? This game has many parts that will just pull you in and keep you there. With so many things to do, that don't get boring very easily, you will want to keep playing this game. It is just that fun. his game has a lot to offer, which I will get to later in Depth, that will keep you wanting to play until you just can not play any more. This sound weird but it is just so true. This game will suck you up and never spit you out.
Story: 8 The story in this game is not as good as it could, but I am not calling it bad. It is just like any other Pokémon game, you are a boy/girl on your what 10th birthday and you go out to get your starting Pokémon. After that the main point of the game is to catch every Pokémon, which gets harder the more Pokémon that come out, and train them to level 100 in order to defeat the elite four and the champion. This, I would say, is basically the main theme of Pokémon and it is just stuck at that. You also have to defeat Team Rocket in this game, and that is kind of a side story that ties into the main story. I am so glad that this game does have a story, some games I have played do not even have a story! What I am trying to say is that this is a great game that has something to do.
Depth: 10 As any other Pokémon game, there is a lot of things to do. First is completing the game. This will take you a long time to do, by this I mean training you team/teams strong enough to defeat the elite four and the champion. That is just the basics of the game, there is a lot more. Remember how I said that you train your Pokémon to level 100 in order to fully complete the game? Well what I mean is that you start with a level 5 starter that you have to train, it is easy at first but than in the 20's gets harder. Now try doing this with over 100 Pokémon, with 100 than that would be 1,000 levels. That is not easy, it may even take 500 hours!
Difficulty: 8 This game is hard. This game has many components that make it hard. First, it is a Pokémon game so it will be hard. Second, there are so many times where it is just like a super hard puzzle than you have to go to YouTube to figure out. This game has the Cerulean Cave, which I still don't know how to get into. This game is not to easy, but it is not to hard. This game is not as hard as something like Megaman but not as easy as say, Pokémon Pinball.
Overall this is a great Pokémon, not just Pokémon but a good game in general. After looking at all of the flaws that this game has the good parts that help you overlook all of the flaws. Overall I will give this great game a 9.5. Hope you liked it! |
