Game Background- Kirby and the amazing mirror is the second game in the franchise to come out for the Game Boy Advanced System, I would consider it a squeal to its earlier installment called Kirby nightmare in dream land. In this game, Kirby must once again fight a notorious villain that lurks in the shadows who aims to destroy all of dream land by using a magic mirror that the villain himself is trapped in. To stop this villain, Meta knight has broken this mirror into numerous pieces so that way the villain can never escape from it, but Kirby doesn't know that Meta knight has broken the mirror to stop the villain from getting out into dream land to spread evil. So in response to Meta knights actions Kirby is collecting the pieces of the mirror to make it whole again, because he thinks Meta knight has broken for some unjust reason.
Graphics- The graphics for this game are fornominal for its time. The animations and level/stages layouts are very complex and go into alot of detail with colorization and design. The games detail in Kirby facial expressions(such as blinking eyes and cheeks go red to simulate blushing) as well as his enemy's facial expressions and motor functions in the game are excellent. The graphics go above and beyond what you'd normally expect out of a Game Boy Advanced game. So for graphics I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Sound- The sound acoustics and display are beautiful in this game with its well diversity in a different sound track for each stage and at certain way points within the stage. The sound is very high quality with its near perfect pitch, and quite frankly it should have been the model base of the sound for the Game Boy Advanced system. So for sound I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness-This game is highly addictive because of it's mini games and as well as it's main game play. You can collect spray cans and music notes/soundtracks throughout the game. The spray cans change the color of main Kirby and the sound tracks allows you to play different songs heard in game. So between the collect able spray cans, soundtracks, mini games and main game play this game takes a considerable amount of time to beat and ultimately had me fighting my self to stop playing to get some sleep. So for addictiveness I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Story- The story goes Kirby has just awoken from a good nights sleep, when all of sudden he see's Meta knight racing to get some where rather hasty, so naturally Kirby thinks Meta knight is up to no good so he purse's him. Meta knight after he realizes Kirby is hot on his trail pursuing him he turns around with his sword and cuts Kirby in to four different Kirby's(red Kirby,yellow Kirby and green Kirby).Now with his 3 other Kirby self's, the Kirby's all chase after Meta knight. Meta knight manages to escape Kirby due to Kirby's confusion over the fact that there is now four of him, Meta knight goes straight for the magic mirror in dream land and immediately cuts it in to 6 pieces and then flees in to a door. So now its up to Kirby to hunt down Meta knight and figure out why he's broken the mirror into 6 pieces and put the mirror back together again by collecting the pieces. So for story I gave this game a 10 out of 10, although there isn't much dialog in it.
Depth- The game is huge, and takes a very long time to reach 100% complete, because to get that you must find all the spray paint cans, all the music notes and soundtracks and maps. The mini games are very fun between the wave riding and eating , and smashing mini games and a secret mini game you unlock after you get 100% called boss battle! Just beating the main game alone with out getting all the spray cans and soundtracks, and maps it takes about an estimated time of 2 to 3 weeks to beat if you take your time and enjoy every feature this game has to offer players. So for depth I gave this game a 10 out of 10.
Difficulty- Well (sigh) the game could have been harder to beat, the games A.I. For Kirby's enemy's gives you ample opportunities to find there weakness and injure them. The game does have a large range of sub bosses for each stage so that added to the difficulty some. But overall I rated the difficulty for this game a 7 out of 10.
Overall: Overall I rated this game a perfect 10 out of 10, because of it's amazing graphics and details, its very long story that holds your interest even though it lacks dialog, and for its diverse range of sub boss and main boss.
