I've avoided Google Chrome for a while now with disbelief but I finally got it with my frustration with that crappy thing known as FireFox3 and Google Chrome is so much better, faster and just isn't nearly as much of a memory hog as FF3.

Right now I have both open and here's a comparison of RAM usage:
firefox.exe - 193,435 K
chrome.exe - 44,728 K
Unbelieveable.

For any poor fool still using FF3, get Chrome here:
http://www.google.com/chrome
You wont regret it.

You can still keep FF3 around like me for it's nice web development tools but overall Chrome is a far better browser, especially if you're using Vista Ultimate 64-bit like myself.

Dang! I knew FF was a RAM hog, but that's insane! As for Chrome, I've had issues with it as of late. Keeps saying that the web page is unavailable. But I'm glad to see you're enjoying the greatness that is Google Chrome

Of course the more tabs you have open, the more RAM chrome sucks up but in both tests, I had 3 tabs open.

IE8 is a good reliable browser too but Chrome seems to run faster.

The big problem with FF is thatthe memory usage varies so greatly from person to person.

I have maybe 9 tabs open with loads of extensions and mine uses 160MB RAM.

But yeah, I'm gonna make chrome my primary browser as soon as they support some sort of bookmark syncing.

How dare you call FF3 Users fools!
But yes, I do agree, I stick around with FF3 for mainly 2 reasons:
Add-Ons
And the simplicity of it all.

The first being the MOST important.
Without that on Chrome, I ain't switchin'.

Besides.
I have 22 Tabs open:
220 MB of RAM is being used.

So 3 Tabs = 200k? HELLS TO THE NO For me.

Well, I don't use add-ons so I think I shall indeed try Google as an alternative to IE.
Or at least for a secondary browser.

While that may be the case, I'm a huge fan of my privacy and Google is not. Don't get me wrong I love google but for Google wanting to be to Information Capital of the world and transmit what your doing at any time.... no thanks.

I'd rather have a resource hog, and you could always switch to Opera instead...

It's actually an optional thing. If you have it activated, they can see all of what you're doing. If you have it deactivated, they haven't a clue as to what you're doing.

Pumkin of Death: Posts should be in response to the thread and the subject. Don't get me wrong, it's OK to say stuff like that in a post, but posts should contribute to the thread.

Yes, it may be optional, Ras, but I don't like it when a Browser, by default, has this on, without telling you it's on.
Most of course will check the Settings thoroughly, but some wont, and who's to say they don't track you anyways? :/

It's not by default. When they have you look at the boring legal crap, it has an option for it.
