Game history/Background- This game is Gamefreak's 2nd Pokémon installment for the Game Boy Advanced system/platform. But altogether
this game is Gamefreak's 8th installment in the Pokémon franchise for/in Japan( and 7th installment in the franchise for America). This
game was released with another title called Pokémon Ruby and the
difference between the two is which major crime syndicate you battle,
and what Pokémon appear in the wild, and in my own opinion the
difficulty.
Graphics- The graphics are what you'd normally expect out of a Game Boy Advanced game, the colorization/color scheme are excellent. The trainers facial graphics and clothing design are at there best for the time period. The buildings are a lot more descriptive and detailed, as well as the Pokémon, so for graphics I gave the game a 10 out of 10.
Sound- The sound quality is near perfect for the time. Pokémon cries are at there best, quality wise. The sound quality is what you would expect from a Game Boy Advanced game. Me personally I don't like the soundtrack for this game, but you can clearly understand the music tempo and the acoustics is good, so for sound I gave the game a 10 out of 10.
Addictiveness- Well the game fell a little short in this category, because I really wasn't in a hurry nor rush to beat this, I was not investing hours of time into beating this( like I would other Pokémon games) I only beat this game once, because it really wasn't that challenging, and the story's dialog isn't all that great and I'm not likely to replay this. So for addictiveness I gave the game a 6 out of 10.
Story- The story is not the greatest, but it does keep you entertained and amused for awhile. Between the major crime syndicate team aqua, stealing/high jacking ship's and trying to flood the planet, and not to mention trying to awaken a super ancient and highly destructive Pokémon, the story can and does keep you interested in it,so for story I gave the game a 8 out of 10.
Depth- (Sigh),well this category fell far, because the game is not very long and it provides nothing to really do after you beat the elite 4, the only thing it really offers is the chance to catch 7 new Hoenn region legendary Pokémon. So for depth I gave this game a 6 out of 10
Difficulty-Well compared to Pokémon Ruby, this games difficulty isn't very hard, it's a lot easier to beat. The games A.I. Seems more relaxed then the one in Ruby, to me Sapphire is easier, so for difficulty I gave this game a 5 out of 10.
Overall: Overall I gave this game a 8.8 out of 10, because while the graphics and sound may be top quality, the story and plot and dialog wasn't. The games pretty easy almost a cake walk, so I recommend this game to anyone who isn't looking for a really challenging game that pushes there training skills, I would recommend it to the trainers who want a more relaxed Pokémon game to play.
