Sigh, no wonder why I never had an snes.... I only tried this game because of David's speed trial competition. The graphics on this aren't great. I don't enjoy that the entire track is flat, or that the graphics look like work from pacman. The problem in having a flat track, is that there are no room for unique features that only Mario would include. What I mean is that there are no giant cannons that shoot you to the top of a mountain, or even no elevation or descention. There aren't ramps, hills. Nothing exciting at all. This game has a track similar to nascar: unoriginal and boring. While some tracks' music are just ok, I was happy to hear Mario Circuit and Ghost Valley's music from Mario Kart wii. While I didn't enjoy playing this game, it was pleasing to hear that the music from these two courses didn't sound any different than they do about a decade later. While I have played the gba, gamecube ,ds, wii, AND the 3ds version, I could not find the will power to try this again. I do not feel any sense of pleasure when playing this game because there isn't anything about this game that makes it special. At least this is the ONLY category that people can agree with me on. There is no story to any Mario kart game and hopefully there never will be. I prefer that a game like this' gameplay be separate and not have any meaning toward another. This is Mario kart, and like every Mario kart, offers 3-4 difficulty settings, a number of characters to select, and time trials. If you do the math, 5 courses, 4 cups, 3 cc. That is 60 races, am I wrong? The battle arena courses do add something to the game, but either way its good to see that even the original Mario kart game included these features as well, excluding mirror 150 cc.Difficulty definitely gets a 10 in my book. I immediately drifted off of the course in the first hour of playing. Scratch that, I couldn't even play because of how hard it was to stay on the course and to even win. This was just the first difficulty setting. I'm usually really good at Mario kart games too, so this is a shock.I am not pleased with the movement or controls of this at all. That is why I already returned the game and got some of my Viz back. I did try to be fair as to how this game should be rated as far as depth, sound, graphics, and addictiveness. Oh well, guess I won't be winning david's time tournament
