I visited my parents yesterday. And when I went to visit my old room. I remembered the hiding place I had when I was younger. Under the bed in a slot I cut and taped back, was a letter to future me. Well, I technically am future me now, and I read a letter to me from my twelve year old self. 

Do any of you guys have one of these? Did you ever find it years later?

james44028 : I don't remember why I did it. I just figured in about 15 years I would want to read what I was like when I was 12. I had a great time reading it. Mostly because I actually had a college vocab level when I was 11, so I thought it was really amusing that I still talk the exact same way 15 years after I wrote the letter. That's probably not why you will get your kicks from the letter, but yeah, take the time and write one. I would do it on a word document though, as paper tends to wear down over the years. I wrote mine down on a word document and password encrypted it so I would have an extra copy.

Edit* oh yeah, basically past me told me to stay with psychology or he would resent me forever, where all the other secret hiding places are in my room, and basically what past me wanted to do by the time I turned 30. (The letter was addressed to my 30 year old self... but I guess I jumped the gun when I found it)

I don't have an actual letter addressed to myself, but I did find a notebook that I had written notes for a philosophy class in last year that I found kind of interesting. I guess a letter from my 18-year-old self wouldn't be quite as interesting years from now, but I think I might do that, you know, just for kicks. I guess I could put some of my current goals and ask my future self if he's gotten off his lazy butt and accomplished any of them.
