It's great to back on Vizzed again after  so long and you know hat?I think I'm in the mood for a GTA Game so I picked the best one I could play on Vizzed and that game is Payback for the Gameboy Advance. Now I picked this game to review because it's pretty much exactly like GTA or Grand Theft auto. Also to better understand this game you might need to know what GTA is or at least know how it plays like and if you don't know then where have you been ever since it was released.Grand theft auto is one of the best sandbox games ever made and the third game in the series pretty much revolutionized gaming as we know it.Now you might be saying right now "Ninja what does all of this have to do with payback?".The answer to that question is........Everything.You see this game is a direct rip off of Grand Theft Auto or at least the first two games.I mean it's such a rip-off that it's not even a "rip-off" it's plagiarism which is sort of same thing I mean seriously the first area you go to is named Freedom city a obvious rip off of Liberty City from GTA or at least in the Grand Theft Auto series..However just because a game is a Rip-off of a better game it doesn't mean it's bad or is it?Okay, now let's get on with the real review of the game rather than giving all you readers a back story to look at!

Graphics:I can say this looks very good for something on the Gameboy advance since there are a lot of 3-d games on the GBA that come off very ugly because the system was never meant to do that in fact so much that some interesting games got cancelled because of that.So at least this one is pleasing to the eye or at least if they weren't any problems with it.There are times where the frame rate would drop and the game would run choppy and not only that, but not only that, but you can never get a good view of what's coming up ahead and this is okay for walking, but when I'm driving I need to have a good view of where I'm going or else I'm going to crash the car,but the reason the top down view camera can't zoom out is because the graphics will probably get too pixelated due to the GBA's screen. Now if you didn't experience these problems with the game play then good for you and that's understandable since you could get adjusted to the graphics and the problems they have like me back when I first found about this game and I haven't played in a while so it gives me problems, but overall the graphics are mediocre or at least okay.[5]

Sound:Now the Sound & Music is a different story. While there is no radio it forgives us in return while letting us listen to the music while we're walking sort of like in GTA 2 for the PS1 version of the game.Payback has some catchy tunes in it that gets you in the mood to destroy the entire city. Now for the sound they're just you're average sounds like gun shots and the sounds of the cars, but I want to touch on the small things like how the useless people say "Hey!" whenever you steal one of they're cars and how the people on the bus yell every single time whenever you crash it and even though that can get a bit annoying at times it's nice to see that the developers were trying to add some realism into a game . [7]

Game play:This section is going to be the score of Addictiveness just to let that out.As I said before this game plays exactly like GTA just with the gangs. You could start your missions by or just go and cause madness in the town and risk every one's life. You know the usual stuff. The phone idea is again ripped from GTA and the missions can be a bit basic at times, but that's okay since there's so much you can do with a top-down GTA clone on the GBA.Also while this might sound like a stupid question:Why is this game rated M?I mean sure there's some swearing and you do bad things like steal cars and blow stuff up,but still something like a T rating would've been much necessary for a game like this.Still The game play is pretty good. [7]

Story:Generic criminal guy goes and blows up the whole town, okay I just made that up because there is no story in the game or at least any story I no of because there might be an explanation in the manual, but those things don't exist anymore except the one I have which is from the game Cars.Maybe I'm getting a little bit too of topic. [No Story]

Depth:The Game offers a single-player game with 3 maps to choose from with 2 difficulty modes on each of them,a mutiplayer mode, and a single player rampage and also another good thing is that it keeps track of your records like police offenses, carjacking, and so on and it comes with a save feature with multiple files to save on so no password which is a plus because I just hate it when game developers are just too lazy to go and make a save feature in they're game in the 2000's. [7]

Difficulty:The difficulty really varies here. There are 2 different modes for each map as I said before and of course the second game mode is the harder than the other and they have more complex missions. So I just give it a 5 for games that have different difficulty's and also I want to note that the game let's you customize the controls.

Overallayback was a huge surprise to me when I first discovered it on Youtube. The only problem is that back then I never had played a Grand theft auto game to compare the two all I knew is that it played similar to it,but now I can say that this game is the best GTA clone I've ever played on a handheld. You might be shocked, but yes I don't think any clone matched up to this one.I mean think about it it's 2001 and you have a GBA,but you want to play a very fun sandbox game that let's you do whatever you want. All you have at the time was GTA 1 & 2 for GBC and those were nowhere as fun as the real GTA and GTA advance still didn't live up so this game was the only other choice. Not only that it's much more suited for portable play because with no story you can just jump into the action which makes me realize why didn't Rockstar give us a game like this, but more polished?Still this is a game you should check out if you're interested.

Overall Score: 7 Out of 10 [Good]
