Man the 49ers are losing players fast.

Now joining Crabtree who is lost for the season, Patrick Willis has a broken hand (he won't miss playing time, but he most likely won't be making interceptions) and Culiver (the 3rd CB on the depth chart) just broke his ACL so he is done as well. This most likely means that Asomaugh will be the new 3rd CB on the depth chart. Might give you an extra second to think about if you want the 49ers D to draft for your fantasy team.

Oldschool41 : Very respectable prediction. After the draft was over, I made my annual prediction and it is?somewhat similar to yours. These are just teams that I think are playoff-caliber. Seeds will vary.

DIVISION WINNERS:
AFC North - Cincinnati Bengals
AFC South - Indianapolis Colts
AFC East - New England Patriots
AFC West - Denver Broncos
AFC Wildcards - Houston Texans,?Pittsburgh Steelers
Note: Give Miami one year to develop chemistry and play together with the current team they have. Next year they will be a dangerous team if all goes well with them. Teams that I think will just come up short in the AFC include Miami, New York Jets, and San Diego.

NFC North - Green Bay Packers
NFC South - Atlanta Falcons
NFC East - Washington Redskins
NFC West - San Francisco 49ers
NFC Wildcards - Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams
Note: 3 teams will come out of the NFC West division, as it will be the toughest division in the NFL. Teams that I think will just come up short in the NFC include Carolina, Chicago, and New York Giants.

SUPER BOWL XLVIII PREDICTION: Denver Broncos - Atlanta Falcons (rematch of SB XXXIII)

*Of course everything is always dependent on injuries and events that happen off the field. I would also keep an eye on teams like Minnesota, Dallas, and New Orleans.

MattyIce : That is some bold predictions you have there. Lets see...

1. I would like to hear your reason behind how the Colts win the AFC South over the Texans (Texans are who most people are picking).

2. Interesting that you would pick the Jets will come up short in getting a wildcard spot, I agree with you that San Diego and Miami will be in the running for a wildcard (Miami could have a longshot of winning the division given what is happening with the Patriots). I would argue that the Chiefs, Bills, and Ravens have a better wildcard shot then the Jets.

3. Interesting that you have the Panthers will come up short in earning a wildcard spot. I think that the Saints and Buccs have a more likely chance at getting a wildcard spot from the division alone; then add Minnesota, Dallas, and Arizona (they improved their offense enough that they might have a chance if the D continues to be solid).

Oldschool41 : I don't mean to sandwich post here, but lemme answer your 3 statements:

1. Ever since Peyton left Indy, the Texans have had absolutely no competition in the AFC South. I think with what the Colts did in FA and the draft, I think they have a chance of unseating the Texans. It might not happen, but its just what I think. Ahmad Bradshaw is definitely an upgrade to an already good Colts offense, and Matt Schaub has had some injury issues as of late.

2. You never know what could happen with the Jets. They're organization is probably the most unpredictable in the NFL. The Chiefs and Bills did cross my mind but I chose to mention the Jets. The Bills have a rookie QB in EJ Manuel, so you don't really know what kind of year he'll have, and the Chiefs brought in Andy Reid and Alex Smith, so you don't really know how those two will work together yet.

3. NFL fans don't know the NFC South like the teams in their division. I've been a Falcons fan my whole life, and this upcoming season, nobody scares me more than Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers. The Falcons have always had a VERY tough time slowing him down. I think the Panthers will have one of the best "front seven" in the NFL, but their secondary is a weakness. Of course Sean Peyton coming back to the Saints will be a big deal, but I'm not too worried about them. And I think the Bucs made a HUGE mistake in picking up Revis. Don't get me wrong...Revis is good, but he'll never be what he was in New York. Just think...he is coming off a torn ACL. You think he'll be able to cover Roddy White or Julio Jones, or Marques Colston, or Steve Smith twice a year? I don't see that happening. I do, however, think that Mark Barron and Dashon Goldson will probably be the best safety tandem in the NFL.

But the bottom line is...anything can happen. My favorite saying is "anybody can win on ANY GIVEN SUNDAY."
