If you do, tell me why. If it's your favorite, why? Personally, I have played every game in the main series, and 7 never really stood out from the crowd. I loved 4, 5, and 6, but for me, 7 was kinda meh.

final fantasy 7 was the bomb diggity i played every main final fantasy starting with I to XII and i find 7 my favorite especially the limit brakes. the hardest challenge is the ruby and emerald weapons the surfire way to beat the is with the knights of the round summon materia it has to be maxed out

KotRT x2
Phoenix
Double-Summon
Final Cast
Hades x2 or a massive stockpile of dazers.

and its the very opposite for Emerald, im such a FFVII nerd-loving-freak i know that its most powerful attack is purely based on your Materia. This means ONLY enter with Master Matera (it doesnt have any AP), have one character with healing magic (Shield will help too), the other two should have mastered Double-cut, and wear items to boost their str. Its a long battle, but its surefire victory.

Anyway, FFVII was the awesomest ever - im actually looking for a PC version to buy, it'd almost be collecters edition. Regretabe, my PSX version was used so much it has become damaged.

I liked ff 3or6 whatever. ff7 was a very close second. also ff2(snes)or 4 was also cool.

I like ff7 because of the story and and the way the characters and monsters were designed

Ok it goes like this. For many people FF7 was the first RPG they ever played so they think it's the best ever for sentimental reasons.
Others never try another RPG because they think that FF7 must have been a fluke and no other RPG could possibly be good, because RPGs are for nerds
Yet others buy into the hype that was put out about it and surrounds it.
Then you have your fanbois... Their just weird losers that become obsessed with one facet of the game and don't have any taste

All in all most FF7 fans will say something untrue that they beleive to be true, ie "its the hardest game ever", "it has the best monsters", "best soundtrack", etc.
I'm not trying to offend anyone ok, and David knows what I'm talking about here when I say all this.
Most FF7 fans just need a lesson in open mindedness.

i think that in final fantasy VII when Zack dies it was the saddest thing that could have happened. another thing was when he lost all of his friends and family.

Final Fantasy VII was the best and my favorite game is final fantasy VII crisis core as you can see in my layout and I really like it.

I went from playing the original WAY back just about when it about first came out, having no idea what I was doing, years and years pasted and a friend of mine asked me about 7, I played and liked it for just about everything in it, except the horrible ratios on body parts...

I love ff7 its like the best game ever...WHY?? owe ill tell you
i like the way you can like choose to react how you want to..Then i like it cause you can name the other characters...The game like never really ends you know..THE STORY LINE WAS TOTALLY FREAKIN AWESOME TO ME...It was long and all it like took me forever to beat it but i like that...I hate short easy games...The characters were cool to....The suprises hit you good in this game...How you find out everything in the end..It was like this big movie and and you wanted to find out so much....WOW I LOVE THAT GAME..i wish i knew a place to play it!

So as you can plainly see, pretty much all the posts made have really just reinforced what I said about the way people treat it.

Fact: FF7 isn't special. It isn't the best / longest / most in depth / saddest / etc. game ever.
It's just a mediocre RPG that scored well because of circumstances surrounding it.

completely right, i mean it could be like someone saying Pokemon is the best rpg because it is their first one if it weren't for the name Final Fantasy it wouldn't have done as well or if it didn't have some characters. in my opinion vii is my favorite it is not the best right now i am waiting to see a best of the year in '10 from xiii but not best all together basically people you are Fanbois it is OK but annoying!

I agree that 7 has a good story, but it was not my favorite. My most favorite is 8, I'm obsessed with it. 7 was not all that hard, I beat emerald weapon AND ruby weapon in about a total of 10 minutes.

Final fantasy7 is in my top 5 games of all time
And after playing them all (yes ALL) 7 definatly stood out as THE best
