Jurassic Park on the Game Gear impressed me a lot. Being a movie based game I didn't expect much. It came with a Game Gear I ordered and it played great on the small screen.

NOTE: I played this on a real Game Gear, the game plays and looks different on the Game Gear then on emulation.

GAMEPLAY B+: I was surprised by how well this game played on the rather small screen on the Game Gear. The controls are great and the platforming is forgiving. One part of each stage involves you protecting an SUV from dinosaurs. That's only the beginning of each level though. Your in for of a treat in the platforming parts. You have multiple weapons and plenty of opportunity's to regain health so its relativity easy. I like the boss stages a lot they are all unique and fun. The only major problem I found in the gameplay is that the control can feel kind of stiff, but you'll get used to it.

GRAPHICS A: This game has some of the best graphics I have seen on the Game Gear, due to the screen being small. It really looks about as good as a Genesis game. The scenery is multi layered and has parallax scrolling incorporated at times. The level of detail is up the roof. The dinosaurs look pretty real and the level designs are always full of color and detail. It really made use of the Game Gears large color pallete.

SOUND B: The music is not exactly the best out there. However there are some nice sound effects. The digitized dinosaur roar in the beginning sounded very clear. I really don't have a whole lot to say for this section.

ADDICTIVENESS A-: I had quite a bit of fun with this game, and I'm sure you will to. I played it and I finished it the first time I played, that's how addicting it is.

DEPTH C-: For a game that's so fun. I can't believe there's only 4 stages in the game. They are also kind of short unfortunately. That's a shame, because I really liked this game and I did not want it to end.

DIFFICULTY EASY: The platforming is basic and the enemies are pretty easy to kill. There's also a ton of continues so you can easily beat the game in one sitting.

OVERALL RATING
 B+

This is a great game. I recommend to any one who owns a Game Gear or you can play it on here. If you don't have a Game Gear then this is one reason you should get one.
