To me, Duke Nukem Forever is a great game. It's the most under rated game I've ever played.

I'd go with Vigilante 8 on the n64. Lots of fun, but I never see it cited as one of the great n64 games.

I agree with you, alexanyways, just because it wasn't necessarily innovative doesn't mean that it's not a good game. I would have to go with Manhunt 2. It didn't get bad reviews, but it got lower scores than the first one. It has great gameplay and freaking amazing story and cool graphics and characters and level design and just about everything else. It's definitely in my top video games of all time, and I really hope that Rockstar makes a Manhunt 3 that has the quality of the first two. I would buy whatever system it's for just to play it.
