I was playing pokemon silver and it just shut off and said something about a special gift and now i keep getting stuck at my last save point which was pretty far back. Anyone know how to fix this?

in goldenrod there is a person who gives myrstery gift. if it was that person that you talked to before the game shut off(in goldenrod's really big mart), it may not be your fault. the first time i talked to her, my game shut off(who knows why)but luckily i saved it before. maybe it has to do with the fact that gold and silver connect to pokemon stadium 2(N64)and the mystery gift on pokemon stadium 2/gold/silver was not complety checked for glitches. the second time i talked to her, it didn't turn off
