Eirinn : I do believe that there is a special individual out there for everybody and you just have to search hard enough to find that special somebody. So yeah I believe in soul mates sole because I believe some where out there, there is a mate/spouse made just for you, who's personality complements your own.

Tricky. Maybe I do, maybe I don't? I thought I found the one for me, and she felt the same. She was perfect. The first three months were truly something, but after that things went a little down hill. Even though we still had a great time together, she slowly stopped making an effort, until it got to a point where she was not even trying at all. Eventually she lost all feelings for me, but didn't tell me that until like a month or so later.I felt so sure she was the one, that we would live together forever. And it hurts to know that she just lost feelings for me just like that. She never gave me a clear answer.

So I want to think that there is someone out there like a soul mate, but the one worry I have is that how can I be sure that this person will be the one for me? If I was so sure the first time in the first 3-5 months, and have it not last a year, then how can I be sure this isn't just a shift of chemicals? When you think about it, there are so many people on earth. Finding the one true love out of all those, yet still being able to build feelings for other people like that when they aren't your soul mate....it's all very tricky.

There is something in Buddhisms that soul mates are reborn together on the wheel of fate. Upon every reincarnation they will be together, forever.

I kinda do and kinda don't because the reason is that yeah, someone can find that special someone, but at the same time, they're isn't a certain person that one person is looking for. So all and all, it really depends on how you treat your mate and how he/she treats you.

This is a good question. Honestly, I think that the concepts of " soul mates " is indeed real. But, whether that is the case for me or not, I could not tell you. I have not had the best of luck when it comes to relationships.

I don't believe in soulmates by the definition you gave. It's silly to think I was "made for this one person". If I died, I would want my wife to eventually get over me and find someone else to love.

However, I always believe soul mate simply as a person who you are extremely compatible with and have a very deep love and friendship, and I believe that can happen with more than one person.

To my answer is no I don't believe there is only one person that can be your soul mate, but yes I believe you find a soul mate, though it's not the only person who could have been it.
