That was a ballgame. Looks like the Niners were gonna come back and take it home. Nice effort though.

Azul Fria : I am a huge Ravens fan, but for Randy.Moss to leave the game without a ring really sucks. He is one of the best Wide Recievers to play the game.
And I do not think Flacco should have got the MVP honors. I think Boldin was more worthy of the honor.

I agree that Boldin should have won, or the guy who returned the punt for a td, or the guy who made that great catch and then got up and ran into the endzone.

but flacco played very well.

bobq : you are thinking of Torrey Smith, and he ran the 2nd half opening kick-off for a touchdown, not a punt return for a touchdown. That is now an NFL record 109 yard return for a touchdown. The played that made the catch at the 11 or 12, got up, and ran it in is also Torrey Smith. He would have been a better candidate than Flacco, sure, but Boldin in my opinion ultimately deserved the honor.

No doubt that Flacco did play extremely well, though.

Well, Colin Kaepernick fell short of being a hero for San Francisco. Some fans may see him as a zero instead? A little harsh? Sure... but here's why:

Kaepernick is the only QB in 49er History to lose a super bowl. He is also the only QB in 49er history to throw an interception in a Super Bowl. He basically tarnished the team's perfect history and hardcore fans will probably be upset by that fact.

Do I blame the kid? Of course not. He definitely wasn't ready for the super bowl and neither was his team. He was fighting against a wave of momentum backing a retiring Ray Lewis, a top-notch defense, and his own inexperience. The Ravens clearly wanted it more and they got it. If you looked at the team before any game in this year's playoffs, you could see just how hungry they were. The 49ers never showed that intensity. The Ravens REALLY wanted to win. The 49ers just wanted to play the game and winning would have been nice, of course. Colin Kaepernick was a kid just living his dream and trying to have fun.

I think the Ravens make the better story anyway. If you follow their season, the retirement announcement, and the intensity of the team, it makes a better story to go back and tell.

For Kaepernick... sure, winning in his first real season as starting QB and second overall would have been impressive... but he'll either end up fading into obscurity and becoming a forgettable QB (in which case, it would surprise no one that he lost) or he'll only get better and go on to have a brilliant career, leading his team to a Super Bowl trophy anyway. Either way, this Super Bowl is ultimately meaningless for him.

It would have been more significant to the veterans. I'm sure Randy Moss is wishing that when Kaepernick threw that bad pass to a wide-open Crabtree in the endzone that went off his hands, that he thought quick enough to gobble it up for the TD himself (he was standing right behind Crabtree uncovered as well, after all).

Either way, only one team can win and it's usually the one that wants it more. That is the case this year. I'm just glad that SF was able to at least make it look like a real contest. Championship games that are blow-outs are complete let-downs.

Well congradulations Ravens, your team got hot when you had too.

Glad to see Lewis earn one last Superbowl ring before his retirement.

I think its going to be tough for the Ravens to get back the Superbowl. They have a lot of players going Free Agency and since Flacco is going to get a Big contract extention, some of their starters might be gone.

As for the 49ers, they came up close. I think if Kappy had waited a bit longer on the 4th in goal to take the lead, he could have gotten Davis. But of course it was a safety blitz so Kappy didn't have much time.

Overall a good game.

I was wrong again...what a shocker. I did think the 49ers had a second half but I didn't like that last play. I would've either called a fair catch or have tried to run out of bounds with about a second left for a hail mary. But I did enjoy the game as well as the halftime show (I'm sure most guys enjoyed the halftime show. Congratulations to Joe Flacco the MVP, Ray Lewis, Ray Rice, and the Baltimore Ravens on winning the Super Bowl (even though I'm three days late lol).
