First of all, I'm sorry if I offended or insulted any of you people who match the description about who this is for.  Secondly, that really is the reason I'm making this walkthrough.  I'm tired of people asking questions because they don't take the time to read important text or just read the map a little.  I will tell legendary locations, but not what they are or if you need something special. Sorry I only know where two HMs are find them yourselves. Anyway the actual walkthrough.

First off you start in the town of Freshwind Villa.  Its a great day to go on a journey(like in all the other games).  You will receive your first Pokémon from your friend.  Depending on your gender you will receive a different Pokémon, Gible if your a girl and Axew if your a boy.  If you didn't get the one you want, don't start all over just because you wanted the other you can get it later.  While there you will battle another friend of yours(who isn't your friend just yet).  Uranium will have a little Pokémon called Ekans(which is snakE backwards).  After defeating him, he will admit that he stole the Pokémon and give it to you to return to the owner.  After talking to the owner of the Ekans he decides to let you keep it.  Then you go to the northern route where you will see the professor and two Team Mirage members that you will see a lot.  Afterward you will get the pokedex and a lecture from the professor.  Then you will have to go across the northern path known as canyon path where, at the end, you will have to battle this annoying cop that pops up outta nowhere at the worst times.  From there you will arrive in Amberyellow City but you cant battle the gym just yet. First you must go across the Light Path. At the end of the path you will find a house(ignore the team mirage members for now). In that house you will see Mrs.Silk, Cutter Alan, and Alan's daughter Lily. You will have to battle Alan and he will give you Cut. Now you must go back to the city and go through the library(be wary of the trainers)where Mrs.Silk is waiting for you in the back. After talking to her she will accept your challenge and be waiting for you in the gym.  "But Super waffle38 she isn't there!" Yes she is you have to touch the poké ball in the back of the gym for her to show herself and watch out for her Porygon-Z.
Did you beat the gym yet? Good for you. Now you must go to Pure Village. CONTINUE TO NEXT WALK THROUGH.

for some reason i can't get cutter to battle me and if i try to talk to the people around him the game freezes and only the music plays

Well, I'm sorry but I can not help with that. This has happened to multiple people, but I don't know why. Sorry I couldn't help you. Try playing v.1.91 and see how that works out.
