OVERALL- 10Oh...my Goodness..... This game just downright goes beyond belief. This game amazed me when I played it around 2008, and It still does. Honestly, this game doesn't beat its sequel, but it's still up in ranks.
You play as heroes that are around the 11- 13 range while defeating aliens, using magical abilities known as PSI, and travel around Eagleland and many more places to defeat the alien Giygas.
GRAPHICS- 8.1The graphics didn't really catch my interest. Most things are pixellated, but there are good points to the game, and they all go into the battle system. The game gets easy, since your Hit Points scroll down when damage is taken. But onto the Graphical part. Most of the enemies you fight aren't pixellated, and they actually look pretty nice. (Though most of them are pretty strange.....) And sweet goodness, I LOVE the animations for PSI, mostly PSI Rockin's. I know the others are little lines or blocks on the screen, but I find them really enjoyable.

Oh yea, and Giygas is so well put that it makes him even creepier
SOUND- 10Now this beyond goes beyond imagination.
This game's music is downright BEASTLY. I enjoy every bit of the music, from battle against a weak opponent, to the cave theme, to Kraken of the Sea. I usually get up and dance to the music, it's just THAT enjoyable to me. I REALLY dance to "Porky Means Business".
Now onto the sound effects. I love the sound of the PSI attacks more than I do the looks. Again, PSI Rockin' tops them all.

Onto more effects. I love every bit of them, honestly. The battle victory fanfare, the level- up jingle, the fully restored noise, etc....
ADDICTIVENESS- 10MY GOODNESS I PLAY THIS GAME NONSTOP.
The storyline is pretty amazing, and the effects are absolutely brilliant. With all of that along with the epic music, I could go a whole 24 hours without eating or sleeping. T_T
STORY- 9.4Ness, a 13 year old boy who has had a red cap and PSI since he was a baby, has a destiny. It is prophesied that 3 boys and Girl, the Chosen 4, will rise and defeat the embodiment of Evil, Giygas. Ness is one of these 4. He must travel to every "Your Sanctuary" location, defeat the monsters that Guard the 8 Sanctuaries, collect the 8 melodies and record them on the sound stone, and join power with the Earth's, and defeat Giygas. He meets and travels with the other 3, Paula, Jeff, and Poo.
While travelling they must endure hardships, sadness, and much more.
DEPTH- 10This game really has alot to offer.
The game has a huge and developed RPG battle system, decent controls, a massive storyline, every main character with a backstory, and it may take a little more than 4 or 5 days to beat. This is also why I really love this game.
DIFFICULTY- 7.1This game was honestly pretty difficult.
Even though you have scrolling hit points, if you don't grind levels at least once, you could have some trouble at some points, as most of the later enemies have some devastating attacks. You gotta make sure you get the best items and equipment you can, or else you'll probably get really ticked off......
CONCLUSIONI HIGHLY recommend you play this wonderful game. with a good story, a wonderful battle system, and lots of surprises, this may be the RPG just for you.
