Sub.I actually like reading and most English dub censor the dialogue and story (Like Sonic X...Even though its more of a cartoon).Also I just love hearing the original voices that were meant for each specific character.

The studio ghibli films have great english acting in them, and you can just sit back and listen. I have tried subtitles before but I really can not be bothered to read for all of that time. I hate reading unless it really appeals to me, like vizzed so I would expect to enjoy reading the subtitles.

If there's a dub, I usually watch that. If there isn't, I'll just watch it subbed. But I'll always love a good dub over subtitles. I just feel like anime should be watched. Also I get a better look at the pretty animation when I don't have to keep my eye on text on the bottom of the screen.

I'm a sub person myself.

Subbing has just always made the video seem more.....authentic. I mean, the reading does get a little old after a while, but it's really not that bad, and usually the jokes are much easier to transcribe than to translate.

The one thing I can absolutely NEVER do is watch half of an anime subbed and then switch to dubbed. I don't know if this happens to anyone else but I get so protective of the characters that even the slightest change to them messes with my entire perception of the anime.

So yeah. I'm a bit OCD about my shows.

In the end i feel it depends on what you start watching the anime with. For example I watched Naruto English dubbed, but when Shippuden came out, I watched it in Japanese. Now whenever I listen to Naruto dub I don't find it satisfactory. Often if the sub has more episodes, I will go with sub knowing i will have to shift later anyway. For older anime that have already been completed I often go with the dub because it is easier to listen and sometimes understand things in your own language
