False. Even though the updates all say removed Herobrine, it was a joke put in there and he does not actually. Therefore you are right, and your friend is wrong. I think he deserves the "In Your Face" dance. Or maybe not.

In ways i believe he is real because of my fasination over glitches/paranormal activity and the fact there is a possabilty that the "- Removed Herobrine" is because they can not get rid of him or ~see below~

I would love Jeb forever if he implemented Herobrine in some form. Of course it's just a "minecraft folk tale", but it would be exciting as a rare spawning "Herobrine" biome that would be even more rare than a stronghold. Such a biome would look cool if it were like a distorted reality.
