vizzed board is not slow for me maybe you have to much on your computer if this website is slow for you

Loading the first page of thsi thread takes five seconds whilst logged in on firefox.

And 4 seconds whilst logged out on chrome.

That ain't top speeds. Oh and to compare, loading a page of a big thread on the other board I go to takes 0.2 seconds, on firefox.

Vizzed is at the moment, slow.

At first they weren't that bad, they have just gotten worse recently.

But yeah, a fix might be in order.

Could have a lot to do with all the people download/playing the games on vizzed board. I do have an alternate solution to that which would be to host those files somewhere else but it'd be a while before I went with that solution.

Yeah, I've noticed this too. IE8 time: 5sec Chrome time: 3sec
I think moving the hosting would be the solution.
Seriously though, Youtube loads faster than Vizzed

Personally I would go with Powweb AMAZING when I had em, great customer service, I even made a friend there a while back. I stick with my buddy who I know on a good personal level if you wanted to do his it's $10 a month. Great speeds on his servers, but as far as top of the bracket, Powweb is simply amazing. Check out the specs.

Seriously Randy, that was my previous host on vizzed board and the board was so slow with them, they are the reason I went with godaddy is because powweb was just terrible, worst experience I've ever had with a host. It was common for pages to take 10+ seconds to load (sometimes up to a minute) and a lot of users at the time were just like "f this, we're leaving the board until you get a new host".

Mine is a little bit slow but its fine and I dont have any
scrolling problems. Its not very fast but it seems normal
to me because my computer has many many files.

I didn't know you had powweb before, my experience wasn't bad with them so I don't know....

I'll take a look at those. Either way, a year from now I might just turn my current computer into a server and buy a new computer, that was basically the intent when I bought this computer I have a year ago since it'd make a perfect server.

Some quick specs on it:
Genuine Vista Ultimate 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Quad processor Q9450
3GB DDR2-800MHz dual channel SDRAM (upgradable to 8)

Yeah, that'd be cool. And plus, you can get a free server computer. Just go to http://www.ubuntu.com and download the server edition. It's Linux Ubuntu, the best Linux. Ubuntu is very good, and it's free. I think it'd be no different than WinServer, but I wouldn't know.

If the Viz board is loading slow and your internet speed is speedy like university internet, then the problem in no way lies with the internet. The problem most likely lies with your computer. first thing to do is check your task manager and see your memory and cpu usage. If they are ridiculously high then that is the reason why you are going so slow so the first thing to do is end processes that you don't need that are hogging up the memory and processor. Next do a disk clean up to get rid of the crap and finally a defragment to organize the rest of your useful crap. You should see a massive improvement in the quality of your computer, and make sure you shut down the comp (not restart) and start it up after wards that way your RAM comes clean.

On a side not Windows itself is a memory hungry program, thus compared to a linux it will be slower there isn't much one can do about that xD. Also the rule above is pretty much for anything under Vista. Vista has a whole other system of memory management I don't want to get into that right now

Learn how the internet works, there's a computer at the other end and if that one is lagging or having a bad connection then it lags on this end too.

Especially when all other websites work perfectly.

I dont want to start an argument or anything, but if everyone else seems fine and there are only a few people complaining that the board is going too slow how does the problem lie with the server on the other end? I have vista myself and I get load speeds of under 1 second on top of that I have tested this site on two other computers with the same results, and one of those computers was cable speed.
Now if you're still having issues with a high speed connection you might want to check your port settings. Also if you are downloading a torrent or a large file at the same time as attempting to access a forum with high amounts of internet traffic then it is obvious that memory allocation has to be split between the download and running the browser, obviously the download would take more priority thus making things slower.

sigh. the internet is made up of many servers and routers talking to each other.
if its slow accessing a particular website for some but not for others it doesnt mean the problem is on the users end or the websites end.

for example i have to pass through more routers and different servers then you to access vizzed board, and if theres a problem with one of those servers i may experience a slow load speed while you do not.

Pretty much I mean it all really depends how far you are from the host server anyways, and what ways your connection gets routed. Unless you can find a way to bypass all the routers and servers along the way that connect to your ISP there's not much you can do. See if you can ping to this server and find the ping time, and try to use another route to connect to it. Sorry I can't help much more :

Just to show Shirayu how wrong he is i tested it out by opening two threads.

One on this board, and one on another board.

Other board: 0.3 second processing, fast speed.

This: 5 seconds, slow speed.

I know when s*** is f***ed up, and at the moment this site is.

Sure I can live with it, but really you should easily notice that this site is sub par when it comes to speed.

Edit: Both boards use the same forum system, just so you know.

just curious DM, are both boards on the same approximate server/location and your path to both aprroximatly the same?
but yeah i agree theres some coding to fix up.

Shirayu, your post makes it seem like one connects to several servers/routers before connecting to the ISP, that isnt the case if you were meaning that.
