Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Tails the fox skypatrolling!
My instructions: You actually play as Tails the fox AKA Myles Tails Prower and have to fly around walls, grab items with your ring, like candy, 1ups, carts, poles that send you foward or backwards, and even emerald cards. (They give you points at the end of the level) You start with 3 lives, you have a health bar, but it drains from getting hit, and even overtime. When it runs out by overtime, touching the walls, or touching the floor, you die. To avoid that, you have to collect candy to restore your health bar and you have to evade enemies as good as possible to have leftover energy that doesn't carry over to the next level. In the mext level, you get full health again. After 1-2 levels, the next level will have a boss fight. You do get unlimited continues, but be prepared since this game is hard.
Graphics: 7/10
The good Game Gear graphics, trying since 1991. They are nice, and they are pixelated good and aren't even sloppy. Sprites are good, fluent, and even detailed, too.
Sounds: 8/10
The glory of 8-bit sounds. Sounds are nice, and the Game Gear did get a little less sound limitations that the NES, but the SNES was released the same year (?) Game Gear came out. The Genesis was already out, so it was confusing. But back to sounds. Sounds are great, even the music seems pretty good.
Addictiveness: 5/10
When you first play, you have no idea of what the controls are, but it is like any other sonic game on the Genesis. Simple controls. The next thing you wonder, "why do I keep falling when I hit a enemy?" It is annoying having to mash the A, B, and C buttons to recover fast before you hit the ground and die.
Difficulty: 10/10
Like I said, this game is very hard. The major problem comes from walls that turn from right in your face to horizontally so they can't kill you. This game pukes diarrhea in a dog. It's like you touch the wall you die, touch the floor you die, run of health you die, too low you die, too fast you die, dont recover fast enough you die, you die you die (x15)!!!! T-T This is very hard. I can beat level 1 without even dying, but I can barely pass level 2, then I can't even finish level 3. That is how hard the game is. To see the later stages, I had to put in a code. Guess what? Didn't have time to try it, so I would try it in the future. I have the game unlocked on Sonic Adventure DX, and that game, I can't get the last 5 emblems from Big the cat.
Depth: 6/10
I don't know how many stages there are, but I think there is 7-8. Each of them increases alot in difficulty, you end up ripping your hair out, you snap pencils, you rip paper in half, even eventually pooping on the game itself in frustration. But that many stages seems around average, a little below average.
Story: 2
The only thing in the story is before the game begins. It shows a witch and various never seen before enemies. That is all it shows. Sorry, but this is a bad story.
Overall: 6
This game isn't good, but only worth playing until you smash the cartridge, or even your game gear in disgust. If you want to see how this is bad, I dare you. If you like this game, might want a explanation. Other than the good items and infinite continues, this game belongs in the garbage, computer style. *drags game to recycling bin* *deletes game*
