This is a thread to state your opinion of what you think are some of the best artists, albums or songs to have come out during that time period. Also, perhaps you will help others discover some hidden gems in the music industry during that time period.

I know that a lot has happened in the music industry during that time period, so I will help out by naming a few of my personal favourites.

Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Oasis, Blur, Weezer, Foo Fighters, Portishead

All of these great bands had albums released between 1980 - 1999.

I am certain that there will be several other amazing bands that will be mentioned by others that fall under this category, but I thought I would give this thread a starting point.

I am very aware that the 1980s is considered to be when some of the best songs were released and artists were at their peaks, so I am sure I will hear about bands like Guns & Roses, Aerosmith, Queen etc.

By the way, Greatest Hits albums, live concert albums and singles do count.

Good choices. Of course The Beatles, maybe the best band ever. The Pink Floyd album I'm crazy about is Wish You Were Here. I also like Dark Side of the Moon a lot to. The others are great to, but not my ultimate favourites.

Regarding Led Zeppelin, they have some amazingly massive songs. Then they have a few others that are just alright. Led Zeppelin is  a hit or miss band for me. Slayer is a band that a lot of people forget about. They aren't really my style, but they have a few songs I like. I would prefer to listen to The Scorpions or Megadeth.
