Welcome, fellow readers and writers! I decided that it was time that I shared my personal project - Tales from Ktan.

Tales from Ktan started as a way for me to express myself and to have an outlet. I have psychological issues. I hate admitting it... and I can't/won't get treated for them. (That's... a work in and of itself.) So I had to find a way to try to combat these issues without outside help, such as therapy and medications. A late night up, a few drinks, and a crying fest later... the idea of using my hobby of writing as an outlet resurfaced and I created Tales from Ktan.

With that bit of introduction, I shall share the URL to Tales from Ktan with you.

Tales From Ktan

I will accept comments here or there, and I have every intent to post stories for Tales from Ktan within this thread as well as on the web-site. (I may stick to excerpts here, so that I don't go over-kill on Words Per Post while allowing the entire story to be posted on the web-site.)

Past that note... I have to mention that the only story currently available for posting is rather gruesome so I will omit posting that story here; if you would like to read it, it is called "Starla's Shadowy Nightmare." It's short, it's marked PG-13 for Violence and Gore, and it's unedited from the original copy that I wrote. It's still in it's rough draft and that is how I intend to leave this particular story.

Enjoy! Thank you for reading, let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is welcome; bashing and flaming is not. So... that said, behave and I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

To the mods:
Let me know if anything is wrong for keeping this thread unlocked and what to do to fix any issues. Thank you!

I'm surprised/disappointed that this hasn't got a comment, until now.
Well, I am in awe, what this is.. Is a creative, healthy thing.

Your site is pretty slick, I like that there was a "Character Bio" page. I like browsing through those type of things. :B
The one-shot story, Starla's Shadowy Nightmare, had excellent surreal/haunting narration,
that both reminds me of a really good two part book1 and totally killed my view of Pokémon2, forever.

(Edit: I just noticed that there wasn't any comments on your site either, from anyone. *Sigh*)

Also, I'm sorry to hear about the trouble, though saying that doesn't help much.
I hope you'll get better, and that you'll be able to continue this amazing project.
Best of luck. (Urgh, rushing this post isn't good.)
1Call of the Wild and White Fang, both by Jack London. Good reads, a little dark though.
2Poor Buneary.

Oh, thank you for the response! I actually did get one response within the site itself but there was no name or anything to be able to post it up with. I found the site rather enjoyable to build... And I'm glad that the method of writing that I tried with Starla's Shadowy Nightmare bled through as well as it did. (It was the first time I'd ever tried something like that.)

As for the Jack London stories - I love Jack London's books. I even had a DVD copy of White Fang's series. Call of the Wild was by far one of my favorites though.

And yes, it was a poor Buneary. But it did not die in vain~!
Here's the other response I've gotten:

Straight to the point! (This isn't the most helpful of comments...) First of all, that was a decent description of yourself and your life, to a degree. I think this is an awesome project, I hope you and many others enjoy the journey! Secondly, /cute/ pets. T3T; (I miss my dog...) My verdict on you so far... Not an egotistical person and a good taste in music and entertainment!!!!! The latter being the more important. My regards to your friends and family! Pets too. XP Have a good one. -Oonion. (Yes its spelt like that.) PS. I've yet to check out the rest of the site! Something to look forward to I think. (Yeah no email... I AM on "vizzed" though. Somewhere.)

Ktanaqui : First off, you're very welcome. Its no bother to give a little feed-back.
And now... Oh my word. That comment is from me.
I don't remember making it though.

Someone else used my nickname?
Oh god, that was definetly me.
Alright. Shocking revelation aside then...

You know of Jack London! My hunch was right!
Well thats nice to know, they're very enjoyable books. And a good example for writers.

Sad story where the author's concerned,
didn't have like minded people around him I think. Shame.

Anyway this explains the... Chilling vibes from the one-shot. (The Buneary was a worthy sacrifice)
You have real talent, and understanding for writing, I hope you can keep motivated.

Also, Happy Birthday! Have a nice day.
And every other day, but thats beside the point.

Now, I'm going to go hide under a rock. Just embarrassed.
I honestly don't remember making that comment.

On3On :

Oh, don't worry. It's no problem.
Yes, I learned of Jack London back in grade school. Late elementary, early middle? I think, anyhow. I read one story in a reading book that he had written. "To Build A Fire" is what it was called, I believe. After I read that, I went on a Jack London reading binge and read all the books and stories by him that I could find.

As far as motivation goes... my motivation is the fact that I decide that I don't want to live half the time. So I find something "better."

Thank you for the well wishes; hopefully it gets better from here on out.

Ktanaqui : Sorry to hear what you're going through,
it would be insensitive of me to talk about it,
so yeah best of wishes, it will get better, it will.

Sorry to bring that kind of thing up, moving on.

I was fortunate enough to have discovered Jack London's books at a young age,
stories like that got to me far more then any tv show or movie that I watched back then.

Starla's Shadowy Nightmare brought that familier thrill back.

Anyway I'm definetly willing to provide feedback etc, I'll keep a eye out.
Thanks for your time.

On3On :

Shoot; I have plenty of time. So thank you for your time.
But you've actually given me a reason to keep writing; I never did know if my stories turned out the way I intended. They were always "too long" for my friends to read and comment on.

I'm happy to give support, and you're very welcome, its nothing to thank me for.
And I have plenty of free time. This site is one the few places I like spend it.

Writing should be a far more common hobby.
Even if its just personal, its still a healthy, stimulating thing.

Its a shame to hear that you don't get much(/any?) feed-back, even from your friends, now that sucks, it really does.
And its something I've seen before too, my friend who is also a writer has the same problem, unfortunately.

I wish it didn't come down to needing others opinions or views to help motivate to do things like writing.*
As I said, it'll be no problem if some thoughts are wanted, but I'm no reviewer.

*I know thats just for some people, in some situations.

On3On :

Well, I think you did a rather decent job with your review.
I wish it were a more common hobby. The issue is that people are too lazy to read much so they are rarely inspired to actually write. As far as the motivation goes - my motivation dying actually had very little to do with not being noticed. It was more issues with personal life. The response just reminded me that, hey - I have something I can do that I do enjoy. For that, I thnk you.

Ktanaqui :

Edit:

"I wish it didn't come down to needing others opinions or views to help motivate to do things like writing."
That was not directed at you.
I'm sorry, I wasn't clear in that post.

Laziness, I agree with that,
writing is not presented the way it should be I guess.

I read your Starla's Shadowy Nightmare. At first I wasn't sure where the story was going, but then when I got top the middle of it, I actually wanted to cry. I kind of don't understand what happened to her. But then ending was pretty good. But I didn't feel that it flowed well. It was like, anticipation for the ending, but the ending didn't fit much with the beginning and middle. I hope I explained that right and respectfully.
