Saw this forum is pretty inactive... also saw the post right below this one I'm making talking about betting Viz on fights , which sounded very interesting to me.

If anyone wants to make some bets on upcoming UFC PPVs I'm all for it...

Otherwise looking for anyone else on vizzed who also enjoys MMA/UFC , Lets get this sub-forum active !

Anyway, the next UFC is UFC 152 Jones vs Belfort

Bet's I would be willing to take on this card would be :

I'll bet the house on Jones to win over Belfort(all of my Viz I'll bet jones wins)
Even though I hate him , I'll bet Bisping beats Stann

If anyone wants to take me up on these I'm all for it , we can discuss how much Viz for the bisping vs stann fight. If someone wants to bet on some of the other fights on the card, I would be willing to , Just let me know..

That is too bad, MMA is awesome. What are your guys favourite fighters?

I would say mine are (or were) Forrest Griffin, Stephen Bonnar (got his butt whooped by Silva), Clay Guita, and Kenny Florian.

I like the kind of fights that are wars and there are barely any moments when punches aren't being thrown. I prefer stand up because it looks more cool and there are a lot of face punches. The only ground game I like about fighting is ground and pound, when someone is on top and they are raining down punches onto their opponent, otherwise arm bars and choke outs aren't really that exciting to me.

bobq : Already kind of told you my favorites but I'll list it in this thread lol

Machida is my current favorite fighter. I just love his style, he is like that Ninja you would expect in a fighter.

Chuck Liddell was my original favorite, he was just real exciting to watch and you could always expect fireworks with his fights. I think Chuck is what really got me hooked as an MMA fan.

Another favorite and not as well known fighter of mine is Brian Ebersole. He made his UFC debut against Chris Lytle and I had only seen his record prior to that fight. He had a ton of fights, probably close to 100 pro MMA fights all together which is a staggering number for anyone. I just love his quirkiness and his fun attitude towards fighting. He is your goofball mma fighter!

Other favorites include Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, Randy Couture, Nick and Nate Diaz, and Carlos Condit.

I was kind of sad that you said you mostly only enjoy stand up because MMA fans should definitely appreciate the grappling aspect, it is what really makes MMA unique! Personally I am more a grappling focused fighter so I can really appreciate it and I think a master grappler will almost always defeat a master striker in a fight.

My favorite fights are skilled and tactical wars. Seeing sloppy brawls does not really excite me the way a lot of people are. I would just rather see technical and skilled fighters much more than the sloppy brawlers.

LegolasJJH : I am indeed an MMA fan and do cover that sport from time to time. (I cover Boxing primarily.) I in fact saw Cung Le’s KO of Rich Franklin yesterday morning. The fight took place in China so it was televised to the United States live in the morning. To be honest I love when they televise Boxing and MMA in the morning. I have pulled a lot of all nighters and have covered cards that have taken place internationally so viewing a live card anywhere from midnight on is actually quite normal for me and I enjoy it. I also have spent many all nighters watching the MMA cards that take place in Japan. If any of you are unfamiliar with Japanese MMA you should check it out. Some of the fights are epic.
